Azog's Hunters 650 points

I have another tournament later in the year.

This times it's Azog's Hunters 650 points. I probs can't change the list but constructive criticism welcome.

The games are
The high ground
Domination
To the death
Lords of battle

Yeah archers barely exist in this list but orcs can't shoot for peanuts so it would be a waste of a 2 attack model to have it hanging back at a D4 getting shot up.

Warband 1

Azog on white warg with lance (Leader)
6 hunter orcs on fell wargs
1 hunter orc on fell warg with banner

Warband 2
Fimbul on warg
6 hunter orcs on fell wargs

Warband 3
Hunter orc captain
8 hunter orcs
2 hunter orcs with bow

lance aint much good....

Why? he got a 2 handed mace and hes burly so he never suffers -1 penalty in combat and always +1 to wound :)

Another point to that matter is I didn't even know he could have a lance. I would agree no need for the lance.

I'd get it to Fimbul if he could have one on warg. I can't remember at this moment if he does.

He got fimbul on warg but if its 5 pts you wanna spend...

well give some orcs bows (you can get up to 8guys with bow)
maybe 2 orcs on fot with 2 handed weapons and 3 warg riders with bows....

I got rid of almost half the cavalry. Low defence cavalry is unreliable I find.

Lol. Is this for Silmarilli in Melbourne? I'm taking Durin's Folk themed around Balin's expedition to Moria. I'd say your kind of low on numbers but obviously a lot is being spend on Azog and seeing as I'm taking 6 heroes just thinking about going up against his beast special rule scares me. Nice force!

Yeah man. Looking forward to it. Not really sure how else to field these guys. Azog seems too good to pass up. I guess I could always get rid of the 6 hunter orcs on fell wargs in exchange for some more gundabads. The riders could easily get shot up and wasted. Maybe they're better off on foot having constant 2 attacks. Thoughts?

I understand you seem to want to use azog but here's the thing....he's going to ruin the army. In a 750 PT maybe. He's too much of a point sink and he takes away from the hunter orcs numbers which is their strength. I played a tournament today at 300 pts used Azogs Hunters. I literally had 1 more model than you. Otherwise they are DOMINANT. Strength in numbers. Tough troops like elite khazads and citadel guard would give them a run as well as full elves with a lot of bows and high fight. But most others fall eventually fall apart.

If I were you I'd take azog off the wary and take the others off wargs. Fell wargs are way overpriced.

Very nice theme wise and I see why you wanted to take an army like that but I don't see you being competitive.

What are you talking about, orcs are perfect shots

Drop the banner and get 3 hunter orcs instead, you could need the extra numbers since you spend a brickload of points on Azog and his warg-friend.

I would cosider changing the Gundabads for Morannons, since they are more cost efficient. Again, it will bolster your numbers a little bit. But I understand if you take them for themed reasons and keep them.
