Hey guys I was thinking about doing a pure warg force and I have 2 ideas. Fell wargs can be taken out of a warband right? I will only be playing this as I think it will be fun and thematic, not to win every game I play. my first list is: wild warg chieftan 12 wild wargs wild warg chieftan 12 wild wargs wild warg chieftan 12wild wargs 497 points and my second list is: wild warg chieftan 12 wild wargs wild warg chieftan 12 wild wargs 17 fell wargs 495 points will the small amount of might really affect the game so much? does it look like these lists are viable at all? |

I'm confused why people keep coming up with "all Wargs" lists. They keep popping up here every week or two. It's an aesthetically pleasing army perhaps but not competitive. You're very limited in troop options, You're in essence limited to fast moving infantry that have 0 options for wargear special strikes. IMO it'd be relatively boring to play with/against Edit: that being said if you want to try it by all means do |

Sorry, I hadn't seen any of the other posts about this sort of army. I wasn't aiming for it to be competitive, just looking for a thematic army, and was wondering if it was even partly viable. would it be better with some warg riders to make it a sort of pack like the ones that are seen in the films? |

That would be a very good idea. It would give tactical options. There's no need to apologize I simply meant I don't see the draw of pure Warg forces |

It does look like it would be boring to play. Only a couple profiles, large bases so a smaller army can force you to play in there terms by staying compact and not allowing a flank (like back to a forest or something). I don't see it being very competitive against an opponent that has experience. It is almost like you have a horde army but due to base size and no spear you cannot get any horde benefit from it. By putting some warg riders, or just a foot force in there you add some weapon and shield options, you have riders dismounting or being thrown, and add just a bit more variety. With so much to choose from in this game, I would think variety would have more appeal. Throw in the weapon strikes and you have even more reason to take a few orcs in the pack. If you are set on it, try out your first list and get it out of your system. Then you will know for sure how you feel about it. |

If you want to play an all warg army like you posted, then do it and don't mind all those guys here But they sure have their point. You have just one type of warriors (two if you use fell wargs) but no wargear options. Your heroselection is also really limited. origami chicken wrote: would it be better with some warg riders This could ad some variety. And take a mini ringwraith to lead them and you have something against heros (who maybe are the biggest danger to your army). |
