Hi there! We are preparing a special tournament here, and we are trying new things. Army list buildings are as follows: - 350 points - Warband formations - Old Legions of Middle earth book guidelines (only 1 alliance allowed) - Scenarios are a bit different. 3 / 6 are about controlling objectives (Like the current one scenarios Hold Ground, Domination, High Ground but modified) . Heroes and Monsters have a value as 3 miniatures. Cavalry are equal 2 miniatures. You need to have almost 3 more miniatures than the other to control an ojective marker. - Other scenario is To The Death. And the other one is related to wounds done by Heroes. - The last one is Recoinntre with the same Heroes, Monsters and Cavalry rules. This way I've been searching around about great players and old GTs (like BlackMist blog). I realized then, that there are 4/6 scenarios about having numbers, it would be a good idea to stick the army composition to that strategy (And having Shatter with a Gundabad Shield Shaman, and Fury with another one). Something like this: Warband 1 9/12 Durbûrz, the Goblin King of Moria 3 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield; 4 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear; 2 Warg Marauder ---- Warband 2 9/12 Moria Goblin Shaman 5 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield; 4 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear; ---- Warband 3 9/12 Gundabad Blackshield Shaman 5 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield; 4 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear; ---- However, I'm not sure if it's worth Quality over Quantity at 350 points match battles. Perhaps an Erebor list with Full Thorin on Pony (Orcrist & Oakshield) and Balin commanding a bunch of Dwarves and some Dale bow support (About 23 miniature army list) is better (or another one with a strong Hero). Warband 1 12/12 Thorin Oakenshield with Pony; The Oakenshield; Orcrist; 8 Warrior of Erebor with Shield; 4 Warrior of Erebor with Spear; Shield; ---- Warband 2 9/12 Balin 1 Warrior of Erebor with Spear; 4 Warrior of Dale with Bow; 4 Warrior of Dale with Bow; ---- I thought about mixing Mouth of Sauron with a Morannon warband (6 shields/6 spears) with a Gundabad Shaman, 2 Marauders and goblins with shields and spears. What do you think? Any ideas are really welcome Thank you in advance! |

It is indeed kinda hard to say but small games tend to bring out a powerfull heroe that can wipe entire hosts since you wont need to fight that many things around... Still at times like proven before attricion tends to win these games. Although kinda meh playing style around nothing special, army without a special taste, a 350pts game composed of: - goblin king - goblin town warriors - moria goblin shaman - groblog Tens to win games pretty often, the synergy its very very nasty as the goblin king works like a cave troll but alot harder to kill with a pseudo 3+ fury roll save. The Moria goblin shamans, well you know the job Groblog is just there to ensure that you dont need to used the channeled version of the spelll, meaning you can save the shaman´s might for later on for an heroic action or to influence your fury roll in case you roll really low.... The only bad thing from this list is that its kinda unsavoury, it doesnt apply 2 much tactics, its more like combos and stick the units at the right places... Shooting armies will give you troubles here and more likely fast shooting like mounted rohan as they shoot and run... The current moria goblin king is nice for the stand fast but with a huge vast horde lending some help from shamans to get them fearless within their bubble, I think the goblin king might be kinda useless to some point unless you risk the shamans in a dangerous gamble.. And soo take a look at this list: Warband 1 Goblin Town Goblin King 12 Goblin Town Goblins Warband 2 Moria Goblin Shaman 6 Moria Goblins with shield 6 Moria Goblins with spear Warband 3 Groblog 4 Moria Goblins with shield Total: 348pts might: 7 models: 31 Its very simple, very deadly... If you want another deadly variation and those might be painfully annoying... Warband 1 Groblog 6 Moria goblins with shield 6 Moria Goblins with spears Warband 2 Moria Goblin Shaman 5x Warg marauders 3 Moria goblins with shields Its a smaller list but alot warg marauders for low point cost... these buggers do also get the fury roll so pretty nice hey? also gives you 10 bows to shoot which makes it quite flexible... Problem is that you only got 22 models and the majority aint a super heavy like the goblin king, so your shaman gonna get crazily targetted as fast as he can to remove the fury bubble... Still as long it keep in shaman alive it can work out nice. You can replace groblog by the goblin king just by removing 1 moria goblin from the list and then it justify the 12" stand fast :) |

Thanks Galanur! I almost forgot that Hobbit factions can only be allied with Hobbit factions so no Goblin King with shamans But your last list is great! I only have to worry about what to do against Ringwraiths (they are going to suck my shaman's will!) or big heroes/monsters like Boromir and so on (first of all all bowfire targets them). |
