Post subject:  Luke Skywalker into Obi-Wan Kenobi

Just dinkin' around with some Star Wars models and decided to create Clone War era Obi-Wan out of Luke Skywalker's ghost. Still have alot of work to do on him, but thought he was coming along well enough to post. :)

His face is nearly done...just some shading to do, the body is just base coated in the colors I want to use there. Feel free to add some critique as I would like to know what you guys think of this model.

His face looks pretty good, even though the model doesn't look very detailed  Nice beard conversion though
What scale are these models?
Keep us posted :)

Is that like a star wars warhammer?

If you mean warhammer as in miniature figurines, then yes, those are what they are

I believe they are from the game Star Wars Miniatures.

Nice job, Dave. Keep us posted. :)

Thanks guys! :)
The miniatures are about 28mm and made of soft molded plastic. I only own a few of these and the detail on some is pretty weak (this Luke model for instance)...the paint jobs are also terrible, but all in all a little bit of some different fun to paint.
Thanks again guys and I'll post more pics of Obi-Wan soon enough. :)

Nice work Dave! :yay:

I think I'll have to look into this Star Wars game, it sounds pretty interesting!

Thanks for the link Olle! 8)

The game looks quite good, especially as it's Star Wars!
Are they pre-painted miniatures?

They are, but not too well I am afraid.

Here is the latest on Obi-Wan

The base is real nice, but honestly I think the clothing is the exact opposite... :x The face is not bad though 8)

You don't need to see the beard (Dorth makes small Alec Guinnessesque gesture)...

Hmmm I'm not to keen on pre-painted minis, especially ones that aren't painted too good...

Perhaps you could try to strip them?

Nah, you'd probably end up wrecking the mini.

They are the same as the Dungeons & Dragons ones. Easy enough to just re-prime and start afresh.

Dave, really like him, it's a vast improvement on the 'standard' pre-packaged paintjobs you get.

Thanks guys for the comments!
Yeah, like John said, I'd steer clear of trying to strip them...the potential of wrecking them is too great. And the paint isn't very thick so putting on a new base coat and repainting them isn't a problem. I'll see if I can post up a WIP of Yoda to show you that the detail isn't lost.

Thanks John, but he is still far from completed. :)

Cool, thanks Dave! 8)
