I created a few custom dice with Chessex Manufacturing and this is what we came up with. We used the Hobbiton Brushhand font with the star and the double "B's" from Bilbo's Red Book of Westmarch.

These little buddies are second to none!
Thank you Joseph!

Those are exquisite! They would not look out of place anywhere in Hobbiton.

I had a look at their site - I must live such a hermits existence, as I was unaware of the variety of dice available. The portable dice tower amuses me, as I wonder how big the non-portable version must be...

I am a dice-a-holic - I just love the little things for some reason.

A certain other LOTR website made some custom dice for sale a while ago. I wonder if anyone here would be interested in a One Ring set?

I'd love to have them... dunno why, but I just want them, lol

Of course people could say we copy TLA... but then again, I know more communities of Warhammer-races and many clubs who have their own dices...

Sorry for hijacking your thread Dave. These are great dice!

I like the idea of doing some for the One Ring too.

I will look into it and try to come up with some possible designs and will post something in the Website forum. I expect to do the dice for about US$1.00 per die (£0.50), in sets of 8. And any profits would go back into paying for the competitions.

Count me in! :D

Thanks guys for the comments...because I was the only one that bought these dice they cost me $6 USD per die, but the price goes waaaaay down when you have a large order. Cannot wait to see what we come up with for the O-R set. :D

Sounds very interesting Alan, but are we legally allowed to sell stuff through the site?
Don't we need a VAT-number or something for that? (if we don't have that yet...)

Dur Bart... Obviously they would be 'given away' as a thankyou to anyone who 'donated' a couple of pounds to the site...

:P

Selling them as a fund raiser... would that be legal.
It is a non-profit endeavor.
BTW, Beautiful Dice!

All the funds raised by this idea, over and above the costs (I hesitate to call them 'profits'), would be used 100% by the site to purchase prizes for competitions.

It's about as illegal as selling chocolates or cookies to raise money for a sports club.

And as Gaarew suggested, we could set it up as a 'donate $8 and get some free dice as a thank you' too.

But there is now a thread to discuss this idea right here --> click here <-- so let's get back to admiring Dave's wonderful dice.
