Post subject: | Willow Tree Giant available to order |
Finally the Willow Tree Giant has arrived! The 3rd in the Tree Giant series has a complex set of overhanging branches which out of neccessity forced my hand into purchasing two moulds - they would simply not all fit into one! Unfortunately this means that the price of this model will be a fraction higher than that of his predecessors, retailing at £18.95. Included in this price however is a clump of natural fern which makes for very realistic hanging appendages. The official release date is 17th April, but you can now order it as usual from the product page at Majestic Bear Miniatures. And for those wondering about scale, here he is with my other two and GW's Treebeard. |

Oh dear - handbags at dawn between those two over who got the first one... Anyway... I will be ordering soon. That pic of ukfreddybear's threesome with old Treebeard reminds me so much of the Entmoot. Brilliant! |

Those are some great Ents - oops, "Tree Giants" - so good, in fact, that it looks better than GW's! The usual great sculpts by UKFreddyBear! Nicely done! |

You had me fooled, Dave! I truly believed that you sculpted these Ents from root to top but now I see you through: you cultivate them! Wonderful models, all of them! |

Man, that is simply stunning Dave. With Treebeard, Quickbeam and Bregalad next to him, that is one unbeatable collection of tree giants. That fern stuff is actual plant material? Hmmm, that means it will get confiscated by Australian Customs if I order one. |

Amazing! I keep meaning to order some of these, but never get around to it. Maybe if I finally started collecting a Fangorn/Lothlorien force I would. |

I hope that has nothing to do with Dave and Sean's conversation in the chatroom... Dave, stunning sculpt, looks really cool with the fronds hanging down around him. |

Right, to clear up the argument, Bart was the first person to order one of these. Dave ordered one 4 hours later. Truth be known I have more than 10 of these so the counter won't be affected until the stock level falls below that number. How does the fern hold up? I cannot say for sure. I could of course have held back the release of the model for a couple of years to give it a decent playtesting timeframe but I didn't think that would go down so well here! As long as you don't swing it around I don't think it will be too much of a problem. The supplier states that it does not decay so that's good enough for me. It isn't a perishable item if that's what you mean Dave. Alan, just because it was once part of a plant doesn't mean you can grow or cultivate it. It's a natural product, dyed and used for modelling - like lichen, horsehair or the birchseed pods that are used as fallen leaves. I don't foresee any customs problems arising. If you are that worried about it I can always send the mini separately from the foliage just in case. |

Sorry about the unintended double-entendre (trust Gaarew to mention it!) I just ordered the Willow Tree Giant. I really love these guys - they are very characterful (ahem). |

Legendary! Do we know who the third party was? The newest edition to the range fits perfectly with the rest, the last picture of all the Tree Giants and Treebeard is a fantastic shot and those ferns look fun! |

Oh no, how can I ever go on now that Bart beat me to the punch. Ahhh, good to know Dave, I wasn't sure if it was something that would dry out or that it needed special care...not that it was going to stop me from getting one of these amazing sculpts either way. |

I am never going to live the 'threesome' bit down, am I? I swear it was not intended as anything remotely funny! Your minds are sewers! Bah-humbug! |
