I do most of my second hand shopping on a local free ads site, but it's hard to come by the rare ones. Thinking of venturing into ebay, but I have no experience of price, or how frequently certain models show up. Perhaps this can be a resource where people share how much the going rate for second hand models is, as well as links to other second hand sites in their various countries? Also advice on bidding tactics in general. Something like this (example) Worldwide eBay.com Elrond (last alliance) €2.50-5 Ireland adverts.ie - Prices vary depending on experience of seller. Frequently get bargains from parents who just want a clear out. etc. I don't know if there is a thread for this already. If it catches on perhaps it can be stickied? |

Ill write you up something more extensively, but are you asking what the prices are like country to country? I bought almost everything I have in the last year and a half on ebay, and have sold thousands worth of merchandise. So let me know particularly what you want. |

Not specifically country to country, that was more for individual sites. Just meant what is a reasonable price for certain miniatures. |

Prices fluctuate all the time. It is not really possible to say X is the going rate for X model. One week X might sell for £2.50 the next it sells for £30. Its all down to how much the people bidding want the model. By all means make lists of 2nd hand sites where you can obtain models from but I seriously wouldn't put too much stock in price estimations. |

Hes right. In fact, I sell to specific needs and times. For example, all of a sudden old Galadriels, Gandalfs and Elronds picked up in price as soon as the new white council rules came out. In fact I sell high when certain models become popular, and often leave stuff on the shelf until I see it high. |

Your best bet is to click on the Sold listings option on ebay and see what previous models have gone for. Some sell high, some sell low, the average is where you can get an idea of where to be spending. I actually found something quite amusing, I was on ebay last night and found a set of Minas-tirith gates selling for £450! Granted it had some minas-tirith army with it (not pro-painted as advertised). Did a quick sold listings search, the most those gates tend to go for is around £60. granted sometimes if someone wants it enough they could probably sell for £100 but that's all that their worth comes down to...how badly someone else wants them |

One I wanted for myself, and I was going to sell the rest. Listed them for a month and nobody bit a new one mtd and ft for even 50 dollars...... Now I just saw one sell the other day for like 70 with shipping from that canadian seller, and IM NO WHERE NEAR MY STUFF. Try, try again. Im listing it for 75 when I get home, and Im not budging for months. If someone wants it, they will buy it. |
