Well as i want a list that is a proper Rangers only list, including the proper Heroes would this be legal and accepted?

Rangers of Ithilien:
Faramir with Bow: 75
Madril: 55

The Grey Company:
7 Dunedain with Spear: 175
24 Rangers of Arnor: 192

Is there anything wrong with this list, or would it allow me a proper Rangers of Gondor army but by using LoME rules?

I think that list is legal, but I'd have to check that Rangers of Ithilien and the Grey Company can ally.

Yes, they can ally. I'd drop Madril, you've already got plenty of Might to throw around and that lets you add another Dunedain/Ranger of the North, and give some of your rangers spears (they will need it).

True, but i did also kind of base it on one box and a handful of blister packs to keep the force down, however i am a little in two minds about the spears, i don't really see this force being much of a spear support force myself, i plan to use it as more a constant distraction force, keeping the enemy guessing etc.

You will eventually get into melee and spear support, especially for low and medium Defense models, should never be discounted. Giving up one model to spread several spears into the force is often a good trade.

Well i might have to look at it, maybe go with the 8 spears you get in the standard box, especially as i found a store that has them for all of £16.50, £4 cheaper than GW prices.

Swapping Madril for 6 horses and another Ranger of the North could be a good idea.

Horses? Dunedain can't ride horses, only RotN can :P

However that may be an idea if i decided to use RotN instead of Dunedain.

The armour makes RotN better IMHO, cuts the wounding chance of a stray S2 arrow in half.

Well with my army it is more a theme than a sort of playing to win force. I just like the Dunedain over the RotN and prefer this to be a skirmish force never going over 500pts. But i doubt i will have the time or the money to get this going, unless of course someone wants some WoMT and Dwarves in exchange for some Rangers lol.

Agreed, I just like the look of the RotN better, and was looking for a rationalization :)

Well i kept looking at the Ithilien list and though 'where did the WoMT come into this' so i thought why not look at doing a pure list that is Rangers and Faramir lead.

Same as my Uruk list and all the other ones i do it is for fun, if i happen to win then i win but at the end of the day you can lose a 'good game', but you have still had fun.

I just hope i can get round to getting rid of my WoMT and get a box of RoME.
