I tried to find the answer by search but was unsucessful but if this was answered elsewhere, then a link will do fine.

Anyways, a few quick questions about volley fire:

Let's say Vrasku and 8 crossbowmen are touching base, thats 10 shots, but only 9 models, can they volley fire?

which brings me to another question, can vrasku use his might to influence volley shot rolls?

1) No, the rules states 10 models not 10 shots, btw vrasku cannot perform a volley fire because he has a crossbow and models with crossbows cannot perform a volley fire...

2) Like i said vrasku cannot take part of a volley fire , btw if he take a bow he can perform a volley fire and yes he can influence his own roll with his might

Legolas is typically the source of this question but the results are the same. In Volley you need 10 models with the same bow (you can't mix Elves and WotR for example). Each model only contributes one die to the roll. If you have a Hero roll their die separately or us a different colored die in case you want to modify it with Might. Crossbows cannot Volley.

Page 45, in the box "Bows - Volley Fire", second paragraph, 1st sentence:

Any group of ten or more bow-armed models (not crossbows, thrown weapons, etc.) in base contact...

TBH, it would be so fun to see my Wood Elves have a chance to volley with their daggers though. 8) Yeah, it is only 12" range but still...

Or a troll throw stones volley fire, or a dragon's fire attack volley fire :)

Anyone want to line up 10 Trolls or 10 Dragons I'd probably let the volley just for grins and to honor the effort / cost of getting those on the table.

Trolls couldn't volley, though I believe dragons could with breath fire.... There was a discussion about it on TLA.

As Dragons are about 250 a piece then if you have a game with 10 in then just to see it happen i would. Then again i like it when funny things happen etc.
