Since I've started playing Lotr SBG with Gondor, which books should I get? I have the One Rulebook and the (old?) Return of the King rulebook. I guess Gondor in Flames would be a reasonable next-step, but is there any other books I will need? And if I started to play a few elves too, which books would then be good?
Thank you in advance

Don't bother with Gondo in Flames, get the Kingdoms of Men sourcebook instead which hasd the updated rules for all of Gondor stuff, and is still available to buy from stores. For Elves, the Free Peoples sourcebook.

Gothmog has nailed the situation on the head- there is nothing else to get if you have The One Rulebook and those two. Happy playing!

Siege of Gondor and Gondor In Flames are nice for the background material and maps, which according to reports are missing from the new Armybooks.

Yeah the new books lack the army building and background that the older versions did (and lets not forget all the lovely pictures of Eavy Metal Minitures), but even so if you do want one Gondor is Flames is the more recent and therefore better of the two books.

Also some paint guides and scenery building guides are in Gondor in Flames and Siege of Gondor, what I think is missing in the new source books.

Aye, there are stuff in there, but I'm not in the habit of telling a newbie to spend over a £100 on books when all he needs are the Main Rulebook which he has got, the new sourcebook, and RotK for themeness, unless you like you're newby friends bankrupt, I would say lay off it.

 Of course your advice was sound :!: With all of the screaming and shouting going on about the new rules it will be a good time to pick up the old books cheep. There are advantages to having them.

@GothmogtheWerewolf – I don't believe anyone said that he needed to go purchase all of the old Gondor manuals. We were just pointing out some of the things he would miss out on if he passed them up.

Never got a good look at the journeybooks, what's in there anyway?

@Gothmog the Werewolf: Those books arn't useless, although the profiles might be old.
But I agree on the point that buying Siege of Gondor is a waste of money!

Not missing much, the new books have the profiles, RotK Journey book has painting guides and GW army lists aren't anty good 90% of the time.

The new books are 48/55 pages for €20,00.

The old books are around 90 pages for €22.50.
A pretty big difference if you look at the amount of pages.
