Im starting to build up a Fiefdoms army (slowly) and i also want to start some elves (both rivendell and lothlorien). So ive got a few questions.

Ill start with rievndell.Which characters are best to use? From what ive seen the cheaper named characters seem better than a regular captain (erestor for example). Am i better with named characters?
Ive heard elves benefit from magic more than other forces is that true?
Is Glorfindel worth it? Hes my favorite elf and i like his mounted model and armoured version. Sadly theres no cav for him to go with.

My main question regarding lothlorien and mirkwood is which character would you rather use Gladriel or celeborn?
And when using thranduil would you use bows or knives with the mirkwood guard?

Thanks guys :)

Glorfindel is amazing. Erestor is a great alternative to a captain. They benefit from magic more because they have more magic and most of it is (semi)offensive. Galadriel is a spellcaster that cast Immobilise an enemy a turn pretty reliably, but Celeborn is great at combat.

Thanks for the advice. Gonna start with high elves then move on to a galadhrim themed force. Then i can hopefully mix in a bit of everything. Whats best high elves with spear and shield or elven blade? Im bidding on plastic high elves atm on ebay but im not sure whats better. I will get both but dont wanna invest in things that arnt going to be useful. Thanks

With shield and spear, though of course all the plastic ones have an elven blade.

yeah which is annoying, same with the galadhrim, so i have converted my galadhrim so removed the two-handedness of the elven blades, but the length off, cleaned up the joins and now my galadhrim only have "hand weapons" and they will be wielding those with shields, why pay the extra point? :-)

I would definitely give Glorfindal heavy armour if you have the points. Besides the obvious boost to defense it also make it far harder to harm him with magic. In the way of galadhrim I would suggest the new plastic box set because they come with bow, spear and elf blade armed models.

Glorfindel, Lord of the West, is one of the most powerful Heroes in the game. His best attributes are his high Fight and his Resistance to Magic, but those two are by no means his only good points. He doesn't really have any weakness, and, at 140pts, he isn't even excessively expensive. Due to the new warband rules, powerful Heroes are now back in fashion, and, in my opinion, they don't come much better than Glorfindel.
