Post subject:  Painting Goblin Town walkways

As a beginner a gamer (having recently purchased EFGT) I would like to do my first bit of model painting. I want to start with the wooden walkways (minus skulls and other details).

Is this a sensible colour scheme and method:

1. Spray with black primer
2. Base layer of Rhinox Hide (full coverage?)
3. Dry brush of Baneblade Brown
4. Dry brush of Karak Stone

I would like the best result possible - any suggestions from One Ring members?

I have been using "Dry Eldar Flesh" as the final high light, it naturally requires a mega dry soft touch during application.

I did mine this way, which I'm sure is how GW suggests....

Basecoat: Dryad Bark
Drybrush: Elysian Green
Drybrush: Balor Brown
Wash: Agrax Earthshade
Drybrush: Baneblade Brown

They look pretty cool too :)

While the technique described is effective, I would suggest randomly changing the colour scheme for 10-20% of the boards. Why? Well take a hard look at any shanty built wooden structures and you will see variations in colour and tone where wood from a variety of sources and species of tree has been utilised. Putting a few variants in there takes the terrain up a notch, adds visual interest and avoids the danger of it all looking a bit same old same old (if you see what I mean). It only takes a little longer to make this subtle variation but it is well worth it.
