Hi all, I'm pulling together my first group of Minas Tirith warbands and wanted clarification on Boromir's profile. Ideally, I would like to have a warband led by Faramir and a warband led by Boromir, however I find that the Captain of the White Tower profile would be a huge investment of my total points at this level. I have the Boromir model from the Fellowship of the Ring set, and the Boromir of Gondor profile is more reasonable, but as I understand it I wouldn't be able to use this profile to lead a Minas Tirith warband, despite being the same character? My reading of the rules is I can include Boromir of Gondor as an ally from the Fellowship of the Ring list, but he would not be able to lead a warband including, say, Warriors of Minas Tirith. Is this correct? |

That is correct. Nothing to stop you doing it with opponents permission in friendly games though. |

Is this correct? Yep, the reason being that profile represents him after having left Gondor (never to return) and being affected by the Ring. |

With his current in-game stats, I have difficulty seeing Lurtz shooting much of anything at all with much success... You can get Fellowship Boromir with elf cloak and a captain of Minas Tirith for the same price as Osgiliath Boromir. Same warband, more might, and as long as he's behind other guys and thus protected from shooting Fellowship Boromir does just fine once he gets to CC. He's as durable as Dwalin (considered a competitive hero) and swaps the strength and Burly for major might and the horn. Not a bad deal, really. Just keep him away from heroes -even a lowly cap can pass a horn test and do major damage to his low defence. |
