Hello all, It has been quite a few years since I have played SBG, Been off doing other systems and the like, that being said I have recovered a some of my older models and Just traded for a huge lot of models ( including 170 goblins!) I have been reading up on the changes since I last played ( RoTK), so this thread is more along the lines of which direction I should focus my models, What type of models should I seek to acquire ( or convert in some of the oop stuff's case), I would definitely like to start working on a good force as well and diversify my Evil. That being said I'll List what I Have for any and all help I can garner. Good Models: - 6 plastic fellowships - Mounted and on foot hobbit, one with top hat ( can not remember his name) - 1 Mounted Rohan Standard - 2 Wood Elf Sentinels - 2 High Spearelves missing Shields ( would the plastic Galadrim shield be an ok replace?) - Armored Elf Captains Blister ( metal blister variety) - Heroes of Helms deep box - Orc Armor Frodo - 3 Armored Elf Archers ( metal variety ) - Mounted King Aragorn ( missing sword arm, any good ideas on replace?) - Mounted Gandalf the White ( missing staff arm, same as above) - Mounted Eowyn in Armor - Boromir of the white Tower - some Misc Foot and Mounted Rohan infantry ( few of each) - Standard bearer of Minas Tirith Evil: - 57 Moria Armored Goblins with Bows - 57 Moria Armored Goblins with Shields - 55 Moria Armored Goblins with Spears - 5 Metal Wildmen (Bare) - 2 Easterling Cataphract - Sauron Again any help would be greatly appreciated |

Well the thing that stares us in the face is the 150+ goblins lol. All you need to do is convert a few to captains and have an army. But it depends on your play style. What are you trying to achieve? |

After some thought I have decided to just button down and stick with focusing on one book currently Moria and Angmar ( not going to worry about good at the present time) That being said I play in a predominantly competitive group, so I am looking for advice pertaining to staying relevant in my group, which units should I shoot for, as well as heroes, monsters , etc . ( defintely helpful for explanations of said units aswell so I can get an idea if it will fit my play style) How does moria stack up with the others? Hopefully they didn't get left behind too badly or anything like that. Thanks for any and all help |

You all ready have access to the staple of most goblin armies. Lots of goblins You can find some of the heroes very easily on ebay. The biggest thing I'd suggest for you to get hold of would be a goblin shaman. They really are great at holding a goblin army together. The named goblin kings are very good as well As far as competitiveness goes as well as which units to look at...Get some games in. Practice makes perfect and getting a good grounding in how to use basic goblins en mass will help later when you have some more elite units to play with. Some elite options are Gundabad blackshields and warg marauders as these are harder to kill and more likely to inflict some damage. In regard to a good army, well you can do an all hero force to begin with if you wanted. They are often quite hard to play as they're always outnumbered and every might point has to be spent in the right way but they're also quite fun as well Happy gaming |
