Hi everyone! Although I'm a long time supporter of GW (mainly Warhammer Fantasy, not AoS), I am new to War of The Rings. I've been thinking of collecting Dwarves, and maybe some Angmar/ Isengard later on, but as I've looked through some suggested warbands, a question arose.

Here is the list I'm looking at:

What are warbands? (I know that there is another forum post on this, but I'm still confused) Are they indiviudal units? Are they different list choices; like I'm debating about which list to choose, Warband 1 or Warband 2? Or are they all just part of the same army?

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate, because the answer will probably be pretty simple, but any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

warbands are the basic troop unit . Up to 12 can be led by the hero from their army list. There are source books with these listed along with the special rules for them and the heros. The current rule book is the hobbit rule book ,which added special strikes and athough similar the game is different to the old lotr rules . Games are usally point based so you could include all you warbands. As for questions on the list it may be better posting in the army help section, as I do not play dwarves, but i would go with bows over throing axes, Dwarvs are relativly slow and and gives you a chance agaist someone trying to skirmish you to death. A mounted ally would help, but it wouldn't be a pure dwarf force anymore. Hope that helps

A quick note to the OP, The Hobbit rule book is for the Strategy Battle Game (SBG). The War of the Ring (WOTR) is a different set of rules intended for larger scale battles in Middle Earth. If you are interested in playing WOTR (as indicated in the title of this thread) then The Hobbit rulebooks may be of limited use to you.
