Post subject:  Question about ponies and channelling

Hi all,

After recently reading all the rules in The Hobbit SBG Rulebook, I was left with some questions, two I can think of right now.

In the Battle Game DeAgostini magazines I recall reading some special rule for ponies where they don't get the usual cavalry bonuses like 'Extra Attack' and 'Knock to the Ground'. However either I missed it, or there is no mention of this in the Rules Manual. Has this been changed / do ponies now behave exactly like regular horses? (with the exception of their profile stats of course)

As for the second question, when you've used Heroic Channelling and you want to cast a spell, that spell gets channelled. How does this impact prior cast Exhaustion spells? Do they get channelled for that turn or does it only work on spells cast the turn Heroic Channelling is activated? Furthermore, if you cast an Exhaustion spell that turn, will it still be Channelled after the turn where you used Heroic Channelling?

Thanks in advance. :)

To your first question: yes, ponies now act just like horses with the knock down and Extra attack

Channeled casting only effects the spells you cast that turn. So channeled fury remains the better version if you heroic channel the turn you cast it

Thanks a lot, that's really helpful! Wow, looks like channelling could be quite a tactical advantage when used at the right time. Very much looking forward to trying the new rules out. :)
