So as we all know, there is legolas and gimli on the same model. I went to a tournament where someone pretty much rode behind enemy lines, dropped off Gimli, and carried on. Gimli proceeded to wreck everyone behind the lines while the rest of the army did its objective taking. What are the legalities of this model, and can you do this with other models? Idk if Ive ever seen an FAQ about it, but whats to stop me from putting Legolas on horseback with Thranduil, etc.... |

Its the passenger rules in the main rulebook. The model just represents this and was made for more aesthetic reasons than gameplay |

I have been reading rules in preparation for the tournament. And there is a section of "Advanced Rules" (pg. 87). Passengers. I found it because I was brainstorming a couple out of the box ideas. Sometimes I get "rulsy", but my tactics are not premium. (as you know) I admit I am rules lawyer, but that is a tactic. (albeit, not an endearing one) |

I'm not American so I can answer that. The short answer is no, we do not. Passenger rules are in the advanced rules section and are optional to use in game, they may not be used without prior consent from your opponent. |

On a similar note, is carrying models usually allowed in tournaments? I sometimes use Pippin in my Gondor army, but due to his movement he gets left behind. Seems the passenger rules are not an option for him, but can I make two warriors CARRY him to the front lines? |

No. There is no rule about carrying models, if it is not said in his profile that he counts as an heavy objective. We don't use the passenger rules in Germany, too. Because they kind of break the game. |

As noted above, all of these rules (passengers/carrying models etc.) are optional rules that are not part of standard play. They are a guideline to help you deal with characterful situations that come up in scenarios and are not intended to be used in points match games/tournaments. Any TO worth his salt will be aware of this so if someone tries it on you call over the TO and they'll put a stop to it. |

Ok so now I cant cheat and carry anyone. Lol jk. I was just wondering though since I figured a lot of people will have heroes on horses. |

To be utterly honest, it's never even been specified in a tournament pack over here, nothing says 'no advanced rules' people just accept that you can't. There's a few overly competitive players over here and even they don't try and get away with that. I've never seen anyone try it in a tournament game. It's similar to the siege rules, there's nothing preventing your models turning up with ladders to climb all the scenery but no-one ever does as they come from a section of the rules not designed to be used in normal play. |

I understand that for sure. Lol at the ladders....now I wanna play a game and bring ladders just to have them running around climbing stuff for no reason. Hahaha. I cant imagine a scenario we will likely play at the tourney Im going to where you have to capture the one ring. Grab it, climb and hide. Lol. |

Sorry! I've never seen this rule! But even the discription says it's made for scenarios. |

It all kinda doesnt make sense though.....if Gimli is on horse why not allow other models. Their should be a rule like models of a certain stature or so can ride them. But it would make them OP. I guess overall the model was made for collectors painters and movie buffs. |

"...important to this game, but only appear in certiain Scenarios or unusual circumstances." hahaha, sometimes I only read the part I want to apply. I agree with it not being in play for a tournament unless specified. I also agree with the avatar change, after being at the Hawks game last nite! |

Lol actually I just decided to switch it the other day after re watching the Return of the King Pellanor scene....but yeah.....damn theyve sucked. But they do this every year if you didnt notice. They suck around the new year and pick up late feb/march and get hot toward playoff time. Still jealous of you going tho! |

Then there is the goblins all riding the warg... How does that work? Can one of them get down? Does that count towards a wound |

The Warg marauder has a combined profile - no separate riders to be killed, or even dismounted. I vaguely remember passenger rules being allowed at UK tournaments years ago, leading to armies with up to 50% cavalry and 50% infantry as passengers, which could then rapidly be dropped at the flank or near objectives. Must've looked ridiculous. |

And probably made the game un fun to be honest. There should be a rule involving mounts and heroes at least. Idk |
