by reading the new ruling of sourcerous blast, I noticed a couple of difference I had overlooked that changes it quite heavily. It said "if a model of S5 or less is blasted into a model which has S6 or more it stops immediately. The model with S6 is not moved or knocked to the ground." I have the Hobbit rulebook (the small one from EFGT) and it says that a model that hit a S6 model just stops. Does that mean that a S3 model can be blasted into a S6 model does stop, but still knocks it down? (ex: can Saruman blast an orc into a Nazgul on Fell beast and knock him down, dismounting him?) |

the FAQ Q: If a Cavalry model is blasted by the Sorcerous Blast magical power or in the path of a model blasted by Sorcerous Blast, who is knocked Prone and suffers the hit – the rider, the mount or both? (pg 80) A: Both. So it seems in your example the wraith will be knocked off the fell beast. The targeted orc simply stops at that point as well. |

you will find most monter's have str 6 so basically all monsters cannot be knocked to the ground from cav. but they can still be knocked down by other means like natures wrath. or unless noted by the rule like sorc blast |

If you sorcerous blast a S6 or higher monster they go flying! If you sorcerous blast a goblin into the balrog, the balrog won't be thrown to ground, if you sorcerous blast a balrog into a goblin they're both gonna be on the floor. Does this clarify? |

That was the example in one of the old rulebook, If I recall correctly. However, in the old rule was written that if a model with S5 or less gets blasted into a S6 model, it stops and the S6 model is not knocked to the ground. The new rule omitted the last sentence. It says that the S5 model just stops; nothing more is said about the S6 model. If I had to read the new rule as it is it would be something like that: the Goblin gets blasted 5". At 2", it smashes into the balrog. The Goblin stops, the extra 3" are lost. The balrog gets knocked down (it has been hit in the chin?) How do you guys usually play it out? |

I will tell you guys something funny that happened to me at Nova this year so that in hopes of me posting this it will never happen to any of you. I played GBHL Jamie and he put some models in the right places. When it comes down to it if you have an orc or some other type of weaker troop in the same combat as your fell Beast he can sorceress blast that orc and it knocks your ringwraith off of the fell Beast. Major pwnage by him. Lost that game by 2 vps. Don't do what I did kids. |

In the French rulebook of the Hobbit, there is a sentence which I can't find in the English version. Here's my "translation" : "The target suffers a S6 hit instead of a S5 hit, and other models knocked prone suffer a S4 hit instead of a S3 hit. Moreover, models with a S6 or more are also knocked prone by the target." I just don't know if the words "by the target" at the end mean "the caster" or "the initial target of the spell"... |

Oh those sly Brits. Maybe the German and Spanish versions have different line mixed in here and their too. Wouldn't that just make international tournaments a pain. Anyway, target the initial target of the spell just like in the first line. |

The Italian version has no additional lines. |

Going by the French book it would appear they (the S6 model at the back)only get knocked prone if it's channelled |
