The magic focused version of Galadriel from the Free Peoples book has the option of taking the Mirror of Galadriel. The mirror says that "The mirror is deployed within 6" of Galadriel at the start of the game - it cannot subsequently be moved." In many point match scenarios Galadriel will not be on the board at the beginning of the game, but will come onto the board on a random turn. Reconnoiter for example. What's to be done with the mirror? My understanding is that there is not an official answer and, of course, in tournament play ask your TO ahead of time, but what options are there? 1) The mirror can't be used in scenarios where Galadriel wouldn't be on the board at the start of the game? 2) Move Galadriel onto the board as normal, and then place the mirror within 6" of where she ends up (never to move again)? 3) Place the mirror on the board at set up, regardless of where Galadriel might or might not enter from? 4) Place the mirror on the board at set up, but Galadriel has to enter from a point such that she can reach within 6" of the mirror on her first move? 5) More options I haven't thought of. Has anyone run into this in practice? Have any cunning insights on how to resolve it? |

i would say 1) or 3) personally. I think the rule was originally based upon her appearances in FOTR & ROTK, whereas in the later releases & hobbit films, she was a more 'mobile' character (instead of confining herself within lothlorien). |

I have read the content and like it a lot. It's been a while since I read it. |
