Can a model that charged during the turn be compelled to move out of combat by an enemy wizard?

In one of the designer commentaries, it says specifically that a Wood Elf Sentinel or Dead Marsh Spectre can't move someone out of combat:

I am not sure if there is any similar line about using the compel magical power, but possibly the ruling should be the same as for the wood elf sentinel's move power?

That was my thinking but the section on magic says you can cast spells into combat unless the spell says otherwise. There was a really old faq that implied it wouldn't work (didnt specifically say compel) but I'm pretty sure it was an old edition. I can see the faq team going either way on it but it feels wrong when you play it or it happens to you and it makes for some really wonky resolution. Seems like it would be easier to say models in combat or even charging must resolve combat first.
