Hi guys, I just wanted to do a quick poll on these guys. Is it just me or are these guys a bit gimped? The list only has access to infantry and it is one warrior at that - the Numenorian. He costs the same amount in points as a WoMT but trades a point of defense for a point of Fight. So you have fight 4 but you can't get Defense 6 off of the WoMT. Additionally there is no cavalry around at all unless you ally them in. Their shooting is no better than normal humans as well. I personally don't see the point of these guys. Against, Minas Tirith you will need need 6's to kill their guys against a lot of armies, while the Numenorians will almost always die on 5s. Elendil is formidable with his free heroic combats but I see little redeeming in the list. Am I missing something? |

Isildur? Byut basically yeah they are not so good well they are not awful but a little choise of troops and lack of cavalary really makes them weak... But Elendil/Isildur are very good -Elendil-very good gighter -Isildur-very good at getting behind of the armya and assassinating banner bearers/shamans/nazgyl? I only have Isildur...have played him with numenoreans a couple of times but this is an army that is not very intersting to play with YET |

Numenorians require a conserved approach when using them. They work well in formation, bowmen sandwiched by a rank of swordsmen in front and spears behind. Also, important you have a Captain with heavy armour, D7 and F5 is always good, no matter who you're against. Also, Isildur is good, 3 attacks, 3 wounds, F6, he'll take most things thrown at him. theye |

Yeah, totally gimped. Here's a thread with alternate suggestions (on this forum): http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11765&start=0 The upshot is: better fight and strength, more equipment options, and higher point cost. Now that I reread that thread, I realize I never posted a captain profile like I promised...maybe this weekend... |

Yes, they are broken. I've played them in a Last Alliance list, but even then they struggle to succeed since they will be outnumbered. |

yea they got slapped for the points cost but they are kinda fun to use anyways- i played a prety cool army whith a last alliance theme. Elidil leading 12 Numerians and Gilgalad with his elves- they arent that great but they can add flavor to a list. With the TLA suplement coming out they will probly be tunred into a good army. |

Do you know for sure this is coming out, or are you teasing me? |
