Faction: Dunland, 1.0

The Dunlendings are a bitter people, obsessed with regaining the land that the Rohirrim stole from them in years past. When Saruman asked for their allegiance, they saw in it the opportunity to right this ancient wrong and perhaps getting a little revenge in the process.

Starting Company
3 Dunlending Warriors with shield
3 Dunlending Warriors with two-handed weapons
3 Dunlending Warriors with bows

Equipment
Shield, Bow..............................................1 Inf.
Two-handed Weapon...............................1 Inf.
Horse (Hero only).....................................2 Inf.

Promotions
Wildman of Dunland → Dunlending Warrior with shield
Wildman of Dunland with two-handed weapon → Dunlending Warrior with two-handed weapon

Reinforcements (D6)
1 -- No Reinforcement
2 -- Wildman of Dunland
3 -- Wildman of Dunland with two-handed weapon
4 -- Dunlending Warrior with shield
5 -- Dunlending Warrior with two-handed weapon
6 -- Dunlending Warrior with bow

Special Rules
Hardy -- A savage people, the Dunlendings are a tough race and can shrug off wounds that would incapacitate others. Whenever this hero is forced to roll on the Hero Injury Table, the player may choose to re-roll the result. The second result stands, even if it is worse than the original.

Strawhead Bane -- A veteran of many battles against the Rohirrim, this hero has become adept at dealing with mounted enemies. Whenever this hero is involved in a fight with a mounted opponent, the enemy does not gain the extra Attack or knockdown ability for charging.

------------------------------
This one is completely from scratch, as there wasn't a Dunland Battle Company in the original rules. It's a little lacking because of the limited troops, but hopefully the Huscarls and mounted Dunlendings will see the light of day and they can be added to this Faction sheet.

What about promotions to warriors with bows? It's pretty hard to get them in a dunland BC. I made my own for Dunland so feel free to take a look: http://www.scribd.com/doc/49048128/Dunl ... le-Company
Mine treats the Warriors as more of elite troops and the wildmen as the larger proportion of the battle company but I do like the route you have gone down.

As far as promotions to warriors with bows, the problem with having it like you do in your battle company is that promotions ignore the 33% bow restriction, so allowing people to choose could allow for some bow-tastic Dunland BCs. The way I justify it is that the Dunlendings, as a barbarian people, are far more likely to want to get into hand-to-hand combat. The Warriors are more of an elite troop type but it makes sense that a small warband would start off as a group of warriors, and the Wildmen are more like a peasant levy.

Thanks for the feedback, though.

Added two warriors to starting company for balance issues.
