current chances of landing an arrow: 5+ Orcs, Goblins: 33.3% 4+ Humans, Uruk Hai: 50% 3+ Elves, Rangers: 66.7% 2+ Elf King: 83.3% D20 shooting: 14+ Orcs, Goblins: 35% - a little needed boost 11+ Humans, Uruk-hai: 50% 8+ Elves, Rangers: 65% - slight nerf 5+ Elf King: 80% - still reliable this might be worth it if you want to use modifiers when shooting. maybe: +2 against monsters (large targets) +2 if 4" or higher than target -2 if moved this turn. (10% penalty vs current 16.7%) you could also add "in the way" penalties for non-living cover to the D20 roll and not have to roll another die. this would be unfair to goblins though. please let me know if i messed up the math. thanks -z |

Didn't notice any errors in the math just wanted to say I liked the idea of the modifier for striking monsters I may use that idea in a scenario sometime. And personally I like the idea of adding to the range with a large elevation difference as opposed to accuracy |

what you could do to get a little more range is measure distance directly out from the elevated archer, parallel to the ground until you are right over your target. this will give them a slight range advantage over the ground archers measuring distance diagonally to the elevated archer. |

Isn't D20 a bit overkill Most skirmish games use D10s as the golden middleground between the D6 of larger wargames and the D20s of roleplaying. |

I do like the idea. But D20 is a dice most people don't have, or do not have in bulk. And you throw 1 dice? Or you throw twice? |
