Thanks to inspiration by Gothmog the Werewolf I finally figured out what minis to use for the two blue wizards and decided I wanted to create profiles for their in-game-use for SBG (as they are already in WOTR).

I chose not to go based off of WOTR's profile ideas but rather what I could gather from Tolkien's writings himself. And here is my first attempt at the first of the two blue Wizards (the name is what Tolkien named him) and C&C are welcome. Hopefully he is not OP lol.

Romestamo
Points value: 150

F S D A W C M W F
5/- 4 5 1 3 7 3 6* 3

Wargear
Staff (two-handed weapon).

Options
Horse……………………………..10 points

Special Rules
*Staff of Power. Romestamo can expend 1 point of Will each turn without reducing his own Will store.

Far-Seeing. Once per turn, before any other models move (including those who have called heroic moves), roll a dice. On a 4+ Romestamo has glimpsed into the near future and seen what is about to occur and may move immediately, up to his full move distance (this does count as his move for the turn).

Magical Powers
Terrifying Aura 2+
Immobilize 2+ (12" range)
Fortify Spirit 3+
Paralyze 4+ (6" range)

I very much like the individuality of his spell list. You've given him paralyse, quite a powerful spell, but to counteract this he doesn't appear to have as many as, say, Saruman.
Overall I think its a very nice profile, I think you had the right idea to keep him the same points with roughly similar stats to the other Wizards.

Incase you want a bit of a comparison. Here are the stats of the two 9under different names) from Dagorlad's Age of the King supplement.

Thank you! I had stumbled upon this YEARS ago and had forgotten where I had found it.
I do like his profiles (and they are the alternate names for the two) but I just wanted magic that wasn't unique to them because I fear I would make it OP and from what I understand they basically led small scale revolts against Sauron in the east. I'm hoping to make a minor campaign for that but we'll see

Also as I recall GW stole a lot from this book

Nice. I like the idea of using less used spells for them. Is curse or banishment going to make an appearance for his compatriot? The far-seeing rule is nice, not too OP but highly useful and imaginative. 8)

He has banishment. Here is the other blue Wizard (btw both are good profiles. From what I've read I do not believe they fell into darkness)

Here's my first try at his profile.

Morinehtar
Points value: 150

F S D A W C M W F
5/- 4 5 1 3 7 3 6* 3

Wargear
Staff (two-handed weapon).

Options
Horse……………………………..10 points

Special Rules
*Staff of Power. Morinehtar can expend 1 point of Will each turn without reducing his own Will store.

Darkness-slayer. Once per turn, either in the move or shoot phase, Morinehtar may attempt to lift a spell that has influenced one of his companions negatively such as Immobilize. To do this Morinehtar selects a friendly unit within 6" then rolls a single dice and on a 4+ the spell is removed, exactly as if it had been resisted.

Magical Powers
Terrifying Aura - 2+
Strengthen Will 6” 3+
Banish 6” 4+
Sap Will 12” 4+

I envision these two leading people's of Rhun who are not under Sauron's sway to try and fight for freedom. Thats why they both have Strengthen Will/Fortify Spirit as they have to bolster their men.

Also I want them to be able to contend with the likes of the Ring Wraiths or others of Sauron's servents as they are not getting support from the West directly

Nice

A very imaginative effort there

Very good! I feel that he should have curse or something since banish is only good against spirits, but on other hand darkness slayer is very useful.

Just realized - have you seen the rules for channelled paralyze? Seriously nasty.

I have, every GW made wizard profile has 1 strong spell and several weaker ones. Romstamo's strong spell is paralyze. Morinehtar's is banish, which is obviously more situational. Maybe as such I should bump it to 12" range

Firstly, why have you made up names rather than calling them Allatar and Pallando?

Secondly, do you hate Ringwraiths? Banish and Sap Will for the same guy so you can kill wraiths in different ways?

As to the profiles themselves generally, they are looking good, and nice of you to use the same models I did 8)

On a side note, I do think that would of them should have a spear-staff rather than a 2-handed weapon-staff, just for variety sake, but that's up to you.

They're not made up. In some of JRRT's last writing abaout LotR he gives them different names, the one James uses

He's correct. From what I could gather (and I could be completely wrong on this) each of the Wizards has two names. One that is their "old name" from before middle earth such as Olorin (Gandalf), Curumo (Saruman) and the like. Pallando and Allatar are supposedly their "pre-middle earth"names.

Thanks for sharing this. I like seeing all the different rules for these characters, especially as they're all more unique than my own with customized spells.

I really like the Easterling rule where you can Ally them in. I was considering something of the same. I actually (back when they were first released) bought the Rangers of Middle Earth pack and painted them up in Easterling colors to make them from that area, so if I do get around to my aforementioned campaign they will definitely be used.

I just might lol. No it was more intended to show that these two are really the only two who can face them (from their whole rebellion area) and to explain why they haven't been dispatched so easily by the 9.

I like what you've done here JamesR.

I also, from the reading I've done, don't think they fell in to darkness as Saruman did.
