So how good is Ingold? His rule seems kinda crummy, but I just realized that it basically means models within 3" of him can't be trapped. He can effectively anchor a flank with just a few warriors. He also seems like an effective hero blocker with 3 Might and Heroic Defense.

Hurin, on the other hand, seems terrific. He's basically a better Faramir, and a +1 to wound foot or mounted is great. He also has some excellent points-denial rules and synergizes with Denethor, who also seems solid.

I have no idea about Irolas. Seems sorta lousy considering he is only defense 6.

Allow me to point you to the fact you can still have a shieldwall and F4 spear support with Ingold.

They look good on paper but they are really a pain to build. I have yet to get mine on the table.

I've tried Hurin in a couple of games he seems really solid for his points.

Ingold I've used just the once but he looks like he could be very interesting ! The greatest part is keeping your shieldwall intact, not getting trapped is great and then there is the objective holding potential too.
