I have created this army to defy the armies of Evil from the fortress walls.
It is 500 points.
Please respond to the poll to tell me what you think.
Please leave any tips you see fit to leave. I will update it with different armies from time to time (generally each week)

Army? What army? Also, try to remember not to use chat abbreviations, as many people on this site aren't English and will have trouble understanding you.

More to the point, he hasn't shown us anything. HIs entire post reads:

OK, sorry, I don't know what happened, because I am sure I posted the army. Here it is:

2 Avenger Bolt Throwers with swift reload
Faramir with Heavy Armour
5 Guard of the Fountain Court
24 Men of Minas Tirith

Now Shutup, you've got my army, rate it!

It depends on how the MOMT are armed. You need some archers to defend the walls.

The Archers are the two Avenger bolt Throwers. I am hoping to use 4+ shots at Strength 7 in order to kill off the warriors of the evil side (considering it will wound almost everything on a 4+) and hoping that the Accurate rule will not be too much of a disadvantage. Then, when they get to the walls, I am hoping to be able to finish them off with 24 MoMT and Faramir. I don't quite think that an army is going to be able to laugh off that defence.

i could think of a couple

and you need archers even if they dont kill everything on a 4+ you wont need a 4+ to kill stupid orks or goblins and eight rangers can do more damage to the rank and file.

Remember what it says in SoG. Even though the Bolt Thrower has the Accurate rule, it's still going to have a hard time decimating the enemy lines. The Bolt Thrower's sole claim to fame is that it can potentially shoot six times in one Turn - but there's no guarantee.

I'd replace some of the Men of Minas Tirith with Citadel Guardsmen with longbow, maybe add spears, maybe not. But I'd definitely give the remaining Men spears or shields or both.

You have plenty of melee fighters.

Does Farimir have a bow? Replace one of the bolt throwers with 6 citadel guards with longbows and spears and then give Farimir a bow.

If you have the Farimir with armor and a sword model then convert it (not that hard).

Also replace the Guards of the fountain courts with Damrod (you need more might).

i like the list 1 heroe in 500pts is enough. they only thing i would do is switch out some on the men of minith tirith for citadel archers and you should be ok

Firstly, I am not even going to think of putting Damrod in, because in the new rules he has become virtually useless.

Secondly, it is time for a new army.

This army is a 500 points Gondor besieging army.

Trebuchet with Flaming Ammunition and Siege Veterans
Faramir on Horse with Heavy Armour
6 Knights of Minas Tirith
5 Guard of the Fountain Court
18 Men of Minas Tirith with Shield

Please tell me your opinions as opposed to polling them, however, please give one of the polling options

If you want to storm a castle cavalry might not be the best choice.
Why don't you replace your cavalry for more men. (you need numbers in a siege)

-You Should have Equally GotFC and CG(w/bows)
-1 avenger is enough
-some WOMTs wiht Shield and spears
-Faramir is fine...

But realy dont realy so much on the Avengers... In one of my game I was a defender too The avenger didn´t kill a thing...I relied on it too much and expected it to deley the attack on the left side of the wall and so I did´t protect it so much... But apperntly it didn´t kill anythig (bad luck) and the left side of the wall fell quickly and well then it wasn´t too hard for evil to strom the whole wall... :wink:
