I have decided to do something during my rehabilitation after my surgery,
and my newest project are some Rangers in a Snow theme.

I did a test miniature and here are the pictures;

The pictures are not a great quality, but it gives an impression.

I painted it the following way;

Undercoat; Skull White
Cloak; Shadow gray, spacewolves gray + shadow gray, spacewolves gray.
leather: scorched brown, bestial brown.
skin: bestial brown, dwarf flesh, elf flesh.
Tunic: spacewolves grey + white, spacewolves gray
Trousers and the rest: shadow gray , shadow gray + bleached bone
Bow (not finished) Bleached bone
Quiver: Adeptus battlegray, codex gray, shining gold

What do you think?
In real life it does look different, as always.

The base isn't done yet (obvious)

Comments are welcome :)

Ah a snow related minature. He looks great so far. I hope the surgery thing has gone well, good to see you painting minis. What are you going to use to base him?

Some simple stones, drybrushed in different tones of grey, and a final highlight of bleached bone/skull white.
After that some snow stuff from GW.

The surgery is coming monday, I'm preparing for it :P

Good stuff. Look forward to seeing him finished. Will you be doing an army themed with snow? or just sticking to a squad.

Good luck with the surgery, read it wrong and thought you had already had it. I'm sure you'll be up & dancing after 8)

As drum said good luck with the surgery.
Great work with the ranger, I myself would do a gold trim on the sort of tabard thing that is left black on your model
Anyway if you didn't understand that here are some useful links:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... Id=6100002
and this one because the mounted ranger is so cool:

Anyway good luck with your grey company (im guessing) and with the surgery.

Thank you for the links.
The link to GW is the one where I got my inspiration.

As for the link to warseer, I do see some potentional conversion work for me.. :)
I did a couple of small changes, but I might convert some like those.

With the tabard you mean the square like thing under his tunic?
That's his subarmalis, one of the few leather parts,
I think it is connected to his leather protection on his arms. (and I painted the same :), but it does look dark on the photo)

I think I will do all my rangers the same colour scheme, and I will add some snow to the bases of my Gondor armies.
I just repainted 48 WoMT, some pikemen, clansmen, knights.. and I won't repaint them for a long time.

When I have my snow stuff, and when I have based my miniatures, I'll post pictures from the rest of my army..
For now, I just primed my rangers and I'll paint them slow but steady.

I'll update as much as possible.. but for now, I'm going to play some fable 3 :)

It might be that, this is what i was meaning the trim of the bit outlined in black:

I hope this makes a bit more sense. Good luck with the rest of the army.
