Oooh, I love you guys. Still updating this thread. Great work everyone! :)
I was originally one of the guys that said that would be active, now like 3 months later, haven't finished once. Life is still really hectic and were still renovating the new place. I did have some time to paint but this went into 40k or 'showcase' models. I know.. excuses excuses, I hope I can join in January though, we're planning to move in in our new place in 2 weeks :)

Mike, join the party now :) You still have 2wks till Jan. Enough time to paint up a monster/hero or 2 ...or even a WoTR company or a good size force for LoTR.

And this little ditty got me motivated to paint my dwarves. Hopefully I'll be able to start on my next army sometime in Feb...we'll see though ;)

I only have 4 Easterlings to paint for WotR so I can't actually qualify for the minimum entries, lol :P Gotta wait for Christmas, see what comes up, see if I get any vouchers/cash/failvouchers to sell and get some models to continue with this, lol :D

I won't be able to participate this month because I have a few other projects that I would really like to get done and will probably take a while, but I should be able come back next month.

I like the colour scheme, it's interesting and quite unique. 8)

Hi,
Cyndra- Great work on those dwarves, they look brilliant with red capes and the face is painted beautifully on the middle dwarf.

Looking forward to joining in for Janruary, either going to paint some Mordor orcs or some Moria goblins.Maybe even some of the fellowship too. :-D

Cheers,
Mike.

Hello all!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the (US) holiday season ;) with the upcoming NYE celebration...don't be stupid w/the fermented wine!!! WE WANT YOU BACK TO MAKE JANUARY A REALLY GRAND ARMY PAINTING SESSION!!!!! :D :-D :yay:

Now here are my completed entries::
Dain

The figure is actually nicer in person. ...honest, seeing it via the camera pics everything looks flat. I like the muted colors scheme and the "down to earth" historic axe of his. Sometimes the flash gets to be a tad much for me. I really like the way his beard turned out, coupled with the old citadel Polished Blue metal bits in it, striking.

King Champion:

If you look closely (as much as the pictures I take allow) you can see "blood" ....well in the following message. Its a mix of water effects and reddish/black inks.

and last view of the 2nd K.Champion::

Dec 2010 Complete (18).JPG

In the 2nd K.C. the orc being stepped on has his right arm completely removed, and the 3 urks all have the same blood water effect wash, that shows up nicely in person. Also, as you can see from one of the pics my free-sculpting talent is severely lacking; looks like he has a catchers mitt on. Also, at 1st I didn't care for the way the hammer/mace turned out but its actually grown on me. Its simple. Yes I'd rather have it a tad more showy but again..its down-to-earth functional.
