Great work on the Mouth! I really like the horses armor and the dirt on the bottom of his robes.

Thanks, got loads of time.
Going on vacation for a week tomorrow and starting a full-time internship right after.
The speed will go down, but not the quality I hope :P

Orc Captain done and ready to lead my orc warband to battle.

Finished the armor on the Mordor Troll Chieftain... kinda dreading the skin, I always struggle getting the tone right for trolls.
Planning on getting him done this week though

1: Basecoat with Boltgun Metal.
2: Wash heavily with a 25/75 mix of Devlan Mud and Badab Black.
3: Dab watered down Vermin Brown onto recesses of the plates to create the rust.
4: Highlight with Chainmail.

Good luck ;)

I highlight by drybrushing, and I pretty much concentrate on the raised edges since I don't want any paint to end up between the plates.
I always use a small brush and when wiping the paint off I try to make it as flat as possible. With a flat brush you can hold it perpendicular to the edge you want to highlight and minimize the risk of highlighting stuff you don't want.

Most important imo is to wipe off as much paint as possible and don't get too exited when drybrushing, just gently drybrush the areas you want :P

The face on the orc captain is outstanding. Great painting all round.
