It seems like forever since I got a chance to paint my dol amroth, but I'm finally back on the case :)

Thanks Oropher :)

I've been just too occupied with house renovations lately, but I've dusted my paint table off (literally) and I'm back to it

Very neat (the workspace as well as the painting).

Tones look okay, the trick really is to push the shading to make the brown pop, apply some dark blue and purple glazes into the shadow areas and you will start to see the brown stand out.
Mix a little yellow into the brown for the smallest of highlights in the raised areas.
Be aware of how the light falls. If your using a zenithal light approach then view the horse from above, what you see should be lighter.

If you get too much yellow by mistake then make up a thin mix of your brown and apply that over the area. It may take a few coats but you will see the yellows brown start to tone in with the rest.
Remember you are glazing, no washes.

I honestly thought these knights would be nice and quick to paint up...
How wrong was I?

The blue is very striking. Good choice of colour, looking forward to more progress.

To do anything really good, you can't do it quick. I'm finding that with my dwarves.

So true mate.... I'll only regret it if I rush them and they look a dog's dinner at the end :)

You can't help but be impressed with these.
You could push the contrast in the metal more with some darker colours in the middle part of each plate so the highlight is only on the edge. If you see what I mean.

Gandlaf, I don't disagree with you about the armour, it looks very flat in the picture.
I'm hoping it's just the lighting was too bright in the picture and made it too shiny.

Normal Dol Amroth service will now be resumed, assuming I don't get distracted again......

"ooo! that looks exciting maybe I'll do that for a bit..."

Is that a Wahammer great eagle? It looks great. The eye is particularly nice.

No Isilduhrr, it's from Gamezone miniatures and it was an utter pig to put together, fill, sculpt, balance, base and pin.... It is a wonderful pose though and I love it :)
