The veterans look great especially seen as a group. It makes for a contrast with the rather clonelike standard WoMT.

Thanks mate :) I will be bringing them, and they will be butchering whatever you challenge me with :P (unless you fight for the good side as well ;) 8))

Cheers Dorth :) Don't have any normal WoMT painted up yet, but I can't wait to see how they compare :)

Thanks Mr. Wayne :) Faramir will lead them in a valiant charge before they get butchered by Bolg and Hunter Orcs! :D (or whatever else I happen to face...)

The second batch of Goblins has been painted since the end of January, I just never got round to posting them. I opted for a darker skin tone with these Goblins (most easily seen on Grinnah, still getting used to the new photobucket), which leaves me with the Goblin Scribe left to paint and the Goblin King needs his base finished - and when they're done I'll post a group shot.

I actually hate the sculpts but I can't deny your painting. The colour scheme works better than the pale skin one which I think adds to how horrible a sculpt they are.
So what I'm saying is I think you've done a great job on a poor set of figures.

Thanks Gandlaf :) I actually really like the sculpts of the Goblins (each to their own their 8)), the only problem I had was PJ's designs of them (I'd have preferred if they were more like the Moria ones), but I found they were really enjoyable to paint

Your darker colour scheme for the goblins looks great! Actually it might make them look better.

The minis look fine - my only question is about the bases - are they staying as dark as they? If it's meant to be Osgiliath maybe ok but Minas Tirith itself would have brighter paving stone work.
I suppose the only issue is that WoMT are so monochrome - silver, black, white, chainmail... a little splash of green vegetation on the base might lift that a bit - just a suggestion.

They look spot on. The armour has a great kind of worn look to it and the bases are very subtle but effective.

They look great!
I'm painting my WoMT as well atm :)
Yours look a bit more 'dusty' than mine;I went for the 'shiny' armour.
Nice basing btw! I want to give my WoMT a simple gravel+grass base, but these look nice as well. I'm just worried they won't fit in on every type of terrain, that's why I won't be doing the bases in a similar way as yours. But I have to admit they look great!

I love what you've done with the basing on the WoMT

Thanks Dorth :) the bases are meant to represent Osgiliath, I do agree with you about them being monotone, I had originally intended to go with dark purple cloth instead of black but scratched that idea in the end, and I do plan on picking up some yellowish coloured grass at some point to break up the grey, I just don't own any yet.

Thanks Delirivm :) I do admit they don't really match any board I've played on (or my other good armies), but I don't really mind that too much, as hopefully they'll look good when they're all finished :)

I've had the Goblin King painted for a while, just never got round to posting him. I painted him to match the pale skinned Goblins, although I think at the time I got fed up with painting the skulls on the staff thing. I plan on adding some yellow grass to all of my Goblins and Dwarves at some point as well.
