Right, knocked out that second Warg. Similar idea, different colours.

This one is;

Main body - Quagmire shade (63A), drybrushed Quagmire (63B), drybrushed Quagmire light (63C), then a wash of Devlan Mud.

Mane and back - Slate Grey shade (32A), drybrushed Slate Grey (32B), drybrushed Slate Grey light (32C), wash of Badab Black.

Eyes - Deep Maroon shade (64A)

Teeth and claws - Bubonic Brown.

Here he is

and a comparison shot.

So, any preferences people? And why?

Cheers,

John

Hmm, I am liking the second one better and I think it is the contrast in the fur that is doing it for me. Very nicely done!

I agree with Dave, and its b'cos the 2nd one has a mane, which seperates the grey head from the rest of the body, but its just (and this a personal hate, I klnow you followed the same principles as the GW guide as most people did), but the first ones 'head to body' contrast looks odd to me.
However, they both still look good, but I would have liked to see some darker fur on them

I like the second one, first, because the darker mane frames the face, second, it has darker fur,(though I would prefer it even darker) third, I think the gray skin on the first one is to 'pasty'. I also like the second one's tale better than the firsts. On the second one I think you should do a dark brown wash/ink on the fur, and the face to get some more depth. For the legs I prefer the first one's as there about the same color as the second one's mane and then they would 'tie in' the model. Over-all, I like them :D .

Two washes!?! What, you don't think I have enough to do already?

:D

I think I'm going to stick with the colour scheme for the second Warg. I'll maybe give the fur a secoond wash of brown ink, but there's not really anything browner than dark brown except black...

I've went over the mane with black again, and also the face and legs.

I started on the WWC before work today. Same colour scheme, except with the mane, I started with a base of Chaos Black before drybrushing the various shades of Slate Grey.

Tonight, I think will be a frenzy of Warg painting...

Will try and get pics up later.

:D

yeah, second warg is better.
I prefer the Scorched brown higlighted with bestial. Did you do yours; Scorched>Scorched and Bleached bone?
I don't think the warg is a very good model though... and I hate the whole furless face thing.

Wait? So the second one is better, but you like the first one more?

and nope. It was Scorched Brown, then Bestial Brown, then Graveyard Earth, then Kommando Khaki, then Bleached Bone.

Ok Jack, here ya go. Wild Warg Chieftan so far...

He has a hairy tooth or a hair-on-his-tooth...same thing

I like how it's shaping up so far, the base is looking good and the fur looks neat. A few washes on the dead guy and a couple more highlights like the wargs before would make this sweeeeet! :D

Great stuff, very pleased to finally see this chap underway

Of course he has! He's just taken a chomp out of that scruffy Rohan dude.

Actually, I think it's a bit fabric off of the old towel I use to wipe my brush on... Maybe should thing about replacing it if it's falling apart when I wipe a drybrush across it... And I thought I had enough glue on it told hold it together for a while yet.

I still have most of the dead guy to do. I've only laid down the base coats for the skin, chainmail and cloak. The brown was already there from the first time I base coated him.

I'm gonna try and get a freshly dead look to the Rohan ddude, and do a lot of splatter all over the WWC's face.

Yum.

:D

Don't they just. It looks like he has two rows of teeth at the front of his top jaw...

Anyway, that's them done now, so gents, for your viewing pleasure, the Wild Warg Chieftan and his pack. For those of an evil disposition similar to mine, we also have a freshly dead forgoil... :D

Pretty pleased with the way these guys turned out. A bit of trial and error, If they'd been repainted any more, you wouldn't even see the gap in the neck...

As always, comments, criticism and sycophantic praise appreciated.

:D

Edit - that's 75% of the Evil models finished!
