Lotr harbor and other projects (update 25.2.2014)

So Day 1 cleared:

I chosed to use white primer because alltough most of my models will be quite dark, white primer makes the colors little bit brighter and pop-up from the battlefield..

Also mounted the knights and did a basic greenstuffing..i realy liked how GW has made the horses more stabilized when comparing to the old metal knights of minas tirith..those broke always from the horses leg...

and the pics..

Sauron in colors..i tried the object source lightning-technique for the first time to the eyes off Sauron and failed quite miserable..i think that i have to remake those tomorrow..overall im quite pleased to the dark red armour..the cloak has only one layer off paint, im continuing that also tomorrow...the pic is bad one, because i dont have enought light at this time off day..there will be some painting also on the breastplate off Sauron..

SO tomorrow the journey continues...feedback is always welcome...

Great Troll conversions and Sauron looks very good so far, especially the red armour. Keep up the great work! :yay:

Day 2:

Im slower than i tought. Sauron took more time than i expected..well, thats ok, im quite pleased whit it...here is the final shot off the painting..

After Sauron i started the knights...im using the same paintscheme that i have used previously whit the dol amroth..i will make these figs quicker because they are not "importan" minis, so les attention to them..that doesnt mean that i wont paint them properly, just little less details..

Not much for one day but at least something..i hope that i can finish the knights tomorrow and start those figs that i expect the most, Trolls!!!

So, to be continued..

I like sauron. And that s pretty good for one day, you paint way faster than me.

The colour scheme you're using on Sauron looks excellent, really nicely painted! :yay:

However I think the mace would look better if it was painted silver (similar to the chainmail); the brass/gold colour clashes with the red armour.

I really like the armour with it's redish hue. Also KoDA's blue parts are very, very nice looking

This is all fantastic.

My only problem is with the trolls. Half of them are looking up, when it would make more sense if they were looking down towards the enemy.

Well to me it looks like one of them is commanding other trolls pointing to them where to go, and the other could easily have been distracted by a stone from a catapult, or a passing mumak/eagle/ent/winged nazgul.

That Sauron is awesome (so is the Troll Chieftain) great work :yay:

I can't say that I like many alternate paint schemes I've seen of the Dark Lord (most of them look either less "dark" or less "lord"-ish) but this one is great!

Huoh, i got sick on tuesday night and couldnt paint at all for the rest of the week..i feel realy frustrated because i know i dont have much time for the next couple off weeks so the minis AND the houses will be delayed again...darn..

sickness can happen , the minis will not run away. Always waiting ... waiting to get painted :shock:

GREAT JOB

especially the houses

but my only criticism is IMO I think the axe on one of the trolls is way too large and looks a bit warhammer-ish if you ask me.Great job otherwise (but im also not that fond of a troll wearing a hood)

Well, here is the situation at the moment whit the houses..

ANd here are the start of the stairs at the back of the tavern..

I hate the making of the stairs..its difficult to make realistic stairs wich work in gaming environment..
