I'm helping my wife with a school project for her grade 4/5 class this year. Recreating five different scenes from the book, including Hobbiton, Gollum's Lair, Mirkwood, Dale and the Lonely Mountain. I'm going to post the progress on my site at http://www.red-dragon-terrain.com under the works in progress section. Here's the first stages of the Hobbit holes and dale buildings. |

oh this will be an exciting project, haven't seen a dale building being attempted on the OR before. As for the hobbit hole if I remember correctly I think there was 1 or 2 guides, but the library isn't quite up yet. The dale building looks good so far, I guess your basing it on a tudor style. If you wanted inspiriation you could even use 'The Battle for Middle Earth' game which had a dale map, and some good buildings. I look forward to see what becomes of the Lonely Mountain, most people see it different from each other (untill the films come out that is) Drum |

Its going to be pretty simple. They are pretty young kids and the sheer numbers I need to make mean I wont be doing anything too crazy. Just you standard carved foam model with some passgaes carved in. |

I am glad to see some interest building for the Hobbit. I want to have some terrain and scenarios ready to play when the movies come out. What you have done so far looks cool |
