Well, accidentally won more ebay auctions than I thought I would, so now have 35 dwarves and some scenery to paint. WIPs on blog.

ooo thats a nice batch you've got there, are they all metal? Someone will be busy over christmas then, ehe. The bases look good - look forward to seeing them painted up! Is there maybe a battle report with these once they're done too? :D

First metal coat done. Not quite as quickly as last time, but plenty other things going on!

You don't see Balin because I already have one and didn't feel like painting him again!
Purples are done, it's blogged, but only this one picture there so no need to visit (except to bump up my counter-ego) =)
And I'm sure there'll be a battle report at some stage =)

Well, here's the brown done, photo taken with new camera, so you may even be able to see things =)

Blog has a shot of the front row as well.

Slow progress, I know, blame Steam for that, stupid cheap games =)

All of my painting is pretty much straight out of the pot for easiness!
The blog has details, I think this one has the colours I used for everything for the normal guys:
http://simbattleboard.blogspot.com/2010 ... -this.html
Other posts have details on beards and what-not.

Turquoise layer done, pretty quick to do 'cos there's not a real lot of it!

Image

The blog has more details and the all important question over warrior pants (grey like my original set or turquoise like I do it nowadays) including a picture to illustrate the conundrum.

Ahhh, weighty decisions...

I think the grey trousers of the warriors is probably better, personally.

Excellent work and glad the batch painting is helping me see them all so quickly ;)

Well, getting there, major milestone reached today with finishing the first complete coat of paint.

Image

More pics of the whole group on the blog, (http://simbattleboard.blogspot.com/2011/01/wip-painting-dwarves-including-khazad_05.html)but it's SOOOOO nice to finally cover up the black undercoat!

A bit of mess to clean up, but well on the way now.

And... the washes are all done now, more pics on the blog, (http://simbattleboard.blogspot.com/2011/01/wip-painting-dwarves-including-khazad_06.html) but here are the three kings washed so you can compare with the above photo. It's particularly noticeable in the beards and flesh, I find. Chainmail on the other dwarves also comes up more detailed.

Sorry about the flash photography, having lighting issues at the moment!

A wash really brings them to a higher level :) good job mate! I really like those dwarves. I am not usually for blue - but it fits them well - well done

Yeah, I quite like the turquoise as just a highlight/secondary colour as it sets off the primary purple nicely, at least I like to think so! Both the purple and turquoise also seem to go nicely with gold, bronze and metal, I can't wait to have them all in together with my other dwarves, going from 70 odd models to over 100 =) Patience is hard =(

I know, i also want to see everything painted up really quickly.. But i gotta take my time for painting, it would be bad to regret it afterwards if they are painted badly.
