Well. I finally purchased a camera. So, I'm starting a wip. First off here's a couple pictures of the figure i just finished, he's the best painted figure I have. Cirdan: I know his eye's aren't the best, I have done better, but other than that he is the best figure I have painted. WIP ent for the painting challenge: And the face, which isn't even dry yet. WIP wood elf: |

Nice sculpting on the ent, can't wait to see it progress. I really like the painting on Cirdan as well |

Thanks for the comments, if you see anything that you think I could improve, just say! It will be much easier to do some extra sculpting now, rather than once I have it all painted up.... I finished off the arms and hands. I think I'll try putting some branches on his back yet, if I really don't like them I can always pull them out and sculpt over the hole. *Edit* Did some work on the branches on his back.... |

Okay, update time. I'm getting very near the completion of sculpting, then onto the painting! I finished the branches on his back, and decided to pull one out as well. I also attached two more branches, one on the back of his knee, the other on his elbow. (As you can tell I have to finish the sculpting on the knee one yet...) I then attached him to his base. As the base is just the lid off an orange juice can, I couldn't really drill through it like a normal base to secure my ent. So, I drilled through the rock and put three pins into the ent's leg. That should hold him. (Luckily the rock is sandstone type stuff so I could easily drill through it with my normal pin vice bit) I've finished the final bits of sculpting on one leg, the other needs to be done yet.... From the front.... |

Oh yes, he's reaching out those nice soft hands in friendship........ unless it's an orc, then they'll feel the iron grip and deadly fury of his wrath. Or something like that. |

Got him undercoated. And if you were wondering what tools I used to sculpt the ent.... A hobby knife and a toothpick with procreate re-inforced tip. I was using just a toothpick on a different project, and it kept splintering and disintegrating from constantly dipping it into water. So I made a procreate re-inforced one. The only place where I used the hobby knife was for the texture, all those scratches/pock-marks, the rest was done with the home made tool. Who says you need to spend a ton of money on spiffy tools to sculpt..... |
