Well expanding on an idea i had before here is my start on Dogbret, amongst his other Uruk Bowmen:

Image

His profile, when complete, is thus (assuming my opponent allows me to use him):

Points: 65pts

Equipment: Orc Bow, Armour, Hand Weapon.

F:4/3+ S:5 D:5 A:1 W:2 C:4 M:3 W:1 F:1

Special Rules: Expert Shot, Stalk Unseen, Poisoned Arrows.

To finish the model i now have to hunt down a suitable quiver and i plan to add a plant or two to show his woodland style of hunting. May even paint green brush strokes over his skin, not sure yet. To get the bow it was taken from an Orc Warrior by cutting away the hand and replacing it with the hand and bow of the Orc.

I like your conversion and your profile, but I don't reallly like the name (it doesn't sound urukish)

It actually came about as a shortened name of Dogbreath (the other half was complaining about her dog on the phone so it lead to this name).

However it was the bit i have put the least thought into, might have to take a rethink, only other name i could think of was 'Brakroth the Shadow'. Back to the drawing board with that one methinks.

Good conversion but the name isn't for Uruk-hai...

Think i may look at Brakroth more then, think it needs either a strong K sound or a short sound that is like an insult or clearing ones throat :P

Thinking about it Dogbret sounds much more Orc than Uruk. Might have to go back to brainstorming again.

As for the plants i have found one of the fly-trap plants on the Catachan sets, will file back the teeth to make it a bit more natural, though can't deny you may get fly-traps in Middle Earth, you get most other natural things.

Cool! :)
Are you going to give him a special base so that he stands out as the captain of your army?

He will have an item of foliage on his base and hopefully two others on his back, then i will streak his skin with green and brown, looking at Catachan Green and Scorched Brown. However on my Uruks i might do a different skin tone, possibly a grey one, more in line with the Cirith Ungol, just as i prefer the colour than the red of the Uruks.

Planning on converting another model to take Vrashku's profile, just give him a new name and make him from a Scout, to finish off might even do a Ugluk and Lurtz equivalent in plastic, i like the rules but prefer my own models, can't see any friendly players having an issue with it.

Right well after trying to put some models up on eBay i found i had a few Engineers spare that just wont sell at all so i decided to do something with them:

Image

Lets just call them my Feral Uruk Hai, i can all ready hear the tutting / mocking / laughing but it was either this or they would find there way into a bin / get totally un-used and be a waste. They have just been given a short spear / sharp stick that is taken from the top of a load of old Uruk pikes i used to have lying around to make the second weapon. Now to think of what i could do to make them perhaps a little more 'feral', maybe some sort of cloaks or when i paint them add some blood splatters.

head swap with a scout (without helmet), lots of wear and tear/damage on the armor...they are D5, so perhaps painting the normal metal as (black) leather?

Yeah for this i think it is going to come down to part paint job, part battle damage.

Though saying that i am scratching my head a little as to why Ferals are only 13pts but for an extra 2pts i get a Berserker with +1D, +2C, a THW and the same number of attacks and strength, unless of course i am missing something on the twin swords (aside from the fact they come with 2 Attacks).

Ferals are 12 points :)

TTT Journeybook overrules the Legions book for points.

BUT, those few points add up over several models and could allow a few extra gribblies elsewhere.
