I know it's been a while, but painting with every scrap of spare time I've had has allowed me to paint my second Cave Troll, a Buhrdur model. Wow that was awesome fun! For not-going-crazy value I stuck with the same method as last time (six part series on my blog if you're that keen to know). To save those of you who want the short-short version I noticed that Buhrdur has the same defence as a normal Cave Troll. Therefore I figured that he wasn't wearing anything overly protective, mainly just for decoration. To that end, he's carrying mementos of past victories on his person, namely stitching in bits of banner etc. from now defeated foes. You can see on him a Harad style eye, black on red, a Rohan stylised horse, white on green and a Minas Tirith white tree, white on black. It was a lot of fun to do. And I've ordered some wargs for his arrow-shields and personal attack wargs, but posed a couple of my old ones here to stand in until then. I had a lot of fun painting all the bits and I know it's not brilliant compared to lots of yours or even the correct Tolkien brand colours, but hey, I had fun and that's all that counts for me =) In my most recent battle he even went troll-o a Mumak-o which was awesome! Oh, and my other Cave Troll among appropriate scenery... Bigger pics on the blog, but I think they came out okay here. Thanks for all the support - it's really great to have such a fun hobby! |

Buhrdur looks really nice but if theres anything to improve on I think it may be his legs. I mean, his upper body is very pretty and colourful but the bland grey just sticks out like a sore thumb, u know what I mean? |
