Hia all. I just finished up some of my Dwarven archers and made pictures of the progress. Wanted to post them here. Also will get some more durins folk and moria models and will post them to when i have them and start painting them But for now here are my Dwarf Archers. I am one that paint several warriors at once , here i have 14 boldgun metal drybrushed models. i always start with drybrushing the whole model so i can see the details better on them I started off painting the faces and hands then painted the cloth peaces of the models. Then painted the bows and leather parts 2 diffrent collors brown to have some diffrence between them . then Painted the beards all diffrent colors ( 12 on 12 so 2 have the same collor) and the helmet shining gold. Then painted the rest with mithril metal and feathers from the arrows with bleached bones. Then washed the models with badab black ( i do love badab black ) And finely using the new Texture to paint the bases. And no did not do this in one day , done it in several days just parts by parts on all models at once always get pain in my back when i paint to long hehe. Hope you like it .. i am not a expert in painting but im getting better and offcourse tips are welcome |

I like it, you should use some wash on the skin and on the armor. |

Nice Dwarves! I'm working on mine too, but you're way faster than me I've got a little question about the wash though, how do you actually use it..? I've used it too, but it doesn't seem to get 'insede' the armour, between the plates, it just makes it darker, that's all.. Perhaps it's cause I don't use GW's paint for it.. but anyway, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I tried to water it down but also directly from the pot itself.. I'm confused |

I use it, i put a lot on the model and then whipe the big splashes of ( if that dry's up you get ugly big black spots on it ) and i kinda like the effect it will have then. Have done it like that with all my models so far also the shaman but i used 2 washes on that one brown on the plate armor and black on the rest of the model. works for me im using the GW washes and using them streight from the pots. But if any one got a other way .. do tell |

With the PVA still wet Great eyes, I don't even bother with them. You are gonna paint the edge of the base right? |

Do you have any \WIP photos as wrll as final photos, because I would be interested in seeing them? Your king looks very nice and regal - and dwarvish. |

Really like the dwarves! If you have trouble seeing details with black primer (as I do) you could try using white primer rather than drybrushing everything in boltgun metal. Also putting a black wash over white primer helps to identify the details too. |

If the wash seems to dark on the model I wipe the excess off with a paper towel. Too light just let it dry and do another layer. Works just fine for me. Martijn |
