Hi guy's I'm new to the One Ring but really enjoying it so far. I've been out of the Hobby for about 4 years now but have just got back into it. I've been making a serious of unusual but Lore-(ish) friendly Harad units. My first unit is a serious of arbalester troops from various models including easterlings, haradrim and Persian infantry courtesy of Wargames factory (Pics uploaded as soon as possible). I was also thinking of introducing a Mahud like unit of tribes men from the savanna grass lands of Far Harad. To make these guys unique I'm thinking of making cavalry using wargs as mounts! I was inspired by Weta workshop describing the film's wargs as being more hyena like than lupine, so my story is that this tribe has tamed the savanna dwelling sub species of wargs of Far Harad and now rides them into battle; just like orcs. For these I was thinking of using Wargames factories Zulu warriors and the plastic warg sprue. Just wanted to know what you guys thought or if you had any advice on how to convert the infantry to cavalry, alternate models! |

Also should note I'd paint the wargs with hyena colour scheme and markings |

This sounds fantastic! I can't wait to see pics. I too have some WGF Zulu warriors ready to become Mahud warriors. I think they will fit in nicely. |

I added WF heads and weapons to the Zulus but I did not finish painting them because I did not think I could get more at that time. I Painted the rest as Zulus |

My first infantry unit of eastern Haradrim! Made by adding wargames foundry chinese spears to GW HARADRIM and then sculpting back flags using green stuff and paper clips. The commander is a wargames factory Persian heavily converted... Horn blower and spear man painted in orientalish colour scheme |

Realy interesting ideas, great looking conversions and nice unusual colour schemes. They do look very mongolian sort of deserty people/tribe. |

Well the trick is to have multiple brushes in different sizes and to take your time. Washes work well on basecoats too. You will get better as time goes along |
