So I was quite keen on buying the Rohan Command blister (captain + hornblower + standard bearer + king's huntsman) till I saw that it would set me back around £30. Deciding I'd rather not fork over so much cash for four miniatures, I promptly went home and decided to convert my own. Here's the captain, which I created over the weekend and have shown in a seperate WIP-thread. He's based now though and I decided he'll be the first miniature of the command quad: I then decided on a Rohan warrior to convert into a standard bearer, removed and replaced both his arms to make him look more exciting and added a pike shaft from a spare Uruk. I'll probably do the banner some time this week using a template from the old Two Towers Rulebook: |

Ended up starting on the Huntsman too. Filed away his helmet and gave him a new hair do, plus a more dynamic pose. Thinking of giving him like a gillie suit or some sort of camoflague, maybe a decorative pelt. Any suggestions? |

Really like the huntsman. Great conversion. Not sure if you need to add more to this. Looks pretty good as is. Huntsmen likely travel light me thinks (not being a huntsman myself). |

I agree, some very nice conversions you have, and nice to save money. However, the £15 half-boxes are just as overprices as the £24 FC command boxes, so its still not much better, unless you managed to grab an old 24 box though. Very good work all the same, nice sculpting, the hair looks really good, and I agree that he doesn't really need anything else. |

Thanks for all the comments, guys! Sorry for the delay in replying as I didn't have any time at all to continue on my WIP! I won issue 61 of Battle Games in Middle Earth on an Ebay auction last week because I quite liked the Aragorn/Strider model and thought it had the potential to make an awesome conversion! It arrived yesterday and I stayed up well into the night working on it, did some touching up this morning too. Took bloody ages! Here he is: I pretty much followed this guide I found whilst working on Strider: http://thelastalliance.com/wordpress/wp ... th-Bow.pdf Today's work: Painting Strider, Huntsman and crafting a banner! Edit: I just found out that ukfreddybear is a member of this forum so if you're reading this, cheers for the excellent guide! |

No problemo. I'm glad you found that old guide useful! I think yours has turned out better than mine! Doing conversions is how I started out and you are doing them well, so maybe you'll be sculpting full figures yourself one day Matt. |

He looks really good! You might want to turn his head so he's looking at what he's shooting |
