Here are Duilin and Derufin as they ride into Minas Tirith at the head of the BlackRoot Vale archers.
The models are from BTD and are actually the same model, just painted and positioned differently.
I plan on attatching some sort of flags or banners to these spears, thus the WIP thread. Suggestions?
I was also considering adding hoods and capes to the figures, but I then thought that sons of Royalty would wish to be recognized and probably would not wear hoods.

GW doesn't make these characters so I thought I woud give it a go.
Full disclosure: I did not paint these. I wish I was that good. IGWARG is responsible for the nice brushwork.

You could make one out of rolled out green stuff?

Please could you put all of your WiP in one thread? It would make it alot easier

Agreed. Also it would give a much better overview over your work.

I like them. I do think it's a good idea to add cloaks, and flags in their lances. It will make them look more regal, yet I do not recall their background story. Thus it may not be suitable if they look more royal. I did not even remember these guys. I need to reread the third book...

Con, These two are the sons of Duninhir the Tall of Morthond. He brought 500 "archers" of the Blackroot Vale to the defense of Minas Tirith according to the books. He was accompanied by his two sons as he rode into the City.

I debated the use of cloaks, but in the end, I decided against it for the reasons listed above.

These models are on the large side of 25 mm but since Duninhir is know as "The Tall", I thought that his sons would also be big fellows, so the larger size seems appropriate.

GW makes a Duninhir model, but nothimg for the lads. I like the way that these turned out and I am leaning toward using one of the flags found in the BGIME issue that featured a flag sheet. I like the white pennant which I think will look perfect.

I'll post another picture when I finally decided which flag I like the best.

Yes I know the flag you mean and it would be very fitting. These two look great.
