Hi guys, I finally decided to start my own WiP-thread. First there are some pictures of the wulfgrimm sculpt .:Gunslinger:. painted for me. Then some pictures of the finished ranger I sculpted for him (other pictures can be found in my blog or in octobre S&C challenge. The onliest thing I did since then was resculpting the legs because they were too small. Next will be a diorama of the ford of Bruinen and maybe a tutorial for making trees... Best wishes SOF |

Very nice sculpt , one criticism if i may : Make the part after the chain mail a tad shorter , his arm looks very lanky and unhuman. Other than that its a model i would be happily to buy if it was being retailed |

No doubting an excellent sculpt. I have to agree on the arm though, however I wish I could sculpt to this standard. |

Superb! Love the campfire tripod. I'm a big fan of non-combat poses, and these are both wonderfully executed. |

I'm loving that ranger sculpt! Looks like he is worn out after a days marching or defending osgiliath. |

Thanks for all the nice comments! RefluentMonk wrote: One criticism if i may : Make the part after the chain mail a tad shorter , his arm looks very lanky and unhuman. Sure you can. I think you are absolutely right, the problem is just that he is already on the way to france... Next time I sculpt something I'll keep that in mind. RefluentMonk wrote: Other than that its a model i would be happily to buy if it was being retailed That is nice! The problem is that I am not able to cast any of them, Wulfgrimm has already been painted by .:Gunslinger:. and the ranger is already sent... I am planning something very big and maybe I will find a company that wants to buy it (only a stupid dream I guess ) or I find enough costumers to be able to cast it. Or maybe not. Gandlaf the Grey wrote: Love the campfire tripod. Yes, me as well. While I watched some scenes of "The two towers" to study some rohan clothing I saw those being used by the rohan folk. So I thought dunlendings woul probably use them as well. Imladris96 wrote: Looks like he is worn out after a days marching or defending osgiliath. That is good because you are almost right. He is ment to be a ranger from dale sitting on a stone next to an easterling he has just killed in the battle at Erebor during the war of the ring. |

Post subject: | Re: SOF's WiP: Nazgul and horse head [02/12] |
Thank you Pabook! I have made some progress on the diorama of the fords of Bruinen, I´ve almost finished a ringwraith and sculpted the first horse head for the wave. More information and pictures can be found in my blog. I plan to cast the wave and the horses in clear resin but I have not done this before. Tipps and tricks would be very helpful! Does anybody know, whether the glueing points keep vizible? Thank you in advance! |

This really does look fantastic. The wraith looks one of the best I have seen. As for the waves, have you considered using thin clear plastic to bend and glue roughly in place then using the water effects on top of this to resemble the waves. White paint will add to the frothy look. |

Someone else has done this scenario before... (Dorth goes rummaging on the Interwebs). Well here is one of them: http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1047-lotr-diorama And another: http://atresomas.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04 ... s-los.html The one I remember is the one I cannot find.... typical. Maybe these help you, a little added inspiration. |

Whaaa, why didn't you show them yesterday? I ordered expensive resin and silicon to cast the wave but the first one looks awesome. I hope that clear water looks good as well. The one you don't remember is probably the one Celevue did for his campaign, isn't it? Another one I know is this one. @Gandalf: Ine of the best? Not possible, I do not like him really. Hat is probably because of the bad pictures... |

Post subject: | Re: SOF's WiP: Gandalf plinth [13/12] |
Hi guys, I am still working on the ford of Bruinen but there is not enough progress to show. Instead I have finished a display plinth for Gandalf on cart. The brigde and the plinth are made by eBob and I was happy to get the last one with the plinth. Unfortunately the water effects are not vizible on the picture. Apart from this I discovered a posterization of mine in the school calendary... If you are interested... check out my blog! Best wishes Dwalin |

I've long admired this bridge. It was so etching I would like to tackle at some point, maybe even making my own. I love what you've done with this, very Hobbiton. |

Thanks for the comments guys, much apreciated! I have finished Gandalf on cart yesterday, I hope you like him. I have added a lot more vegetation as lots of members from HdR-Tabletop mentioned this. I am much happier now. C&C very welcome! Much more pictures can be found in my blog. |

Excellent work, particularly like the vegetation, the ivy growing on the side of the bridge is really good. Like the last photo the most |
