Starting my own WIP thread, mostly for self motivation. I've taken a short break from miniatures to work on terrain for a Helm's Deep siege game that Ring of Gyges and I are trying to target.
I have the old resin Helm's Deep gate and curved walls, but since we wanted to play Helm's Deep, we needed some semblance of a Deeping Wall as well, and ideally some way to connect the two.
Gyges has a Warhammer fortress, so my initial plan was to just build something quick to connect the Deeping Wall to the inner keep. And this was my first serious foamcore project, so I had to learn a few lessons about how to cut and work with foamcore. After getting going though, the Deeping Wall itself didn't seem so hard, so went ahead and added the wall segments as well.
Progress as of last week:
I've since finished the 3rd Deeping Wall segment, have beveled the battlements, and filled gaps with spackle (Polyfilla for UKers). Just about ready to start adding some card "blocks" for texture. Will try to get some updated photos soon.
