I can't vouch for these guys, but the minis look like they will be nice - 28mm heroic scale - with factions that might suit as proxies for LOTR (they plan to produce elves, dwarves and orcs if it gets off the ground). First faction is Men. Kickstarter funding in moving slow, but I backed them.

Yeah, I'm currently in and they look nice, don't know if I'll stay though, I keep looking at that 12 month wait time. They are after a lot of $$ and a lot of boxes to unlock and if they don't all unlock, what then? I doubt if I'd only want half an army and would need the cavalry to be unlocked. The first three unlocks should have been standard troops, cavalry, shooters and an infantry unit, probably pikemen and I'd be happy with that, anything else would be a bonus.

Looks like a great project, although to my mind far more suitable for historical or WFB gaming than Lord of the Rings. They have an acute 14th/15th century feel, rather than the more Dark Age feel of LotR.

While the models are a bit too close to historical late 14th/15th/even early 16th century European in style, they look reasonably good (those that have been shown) but my funds are tapped out following Dreadball Extreme and I am more interested in Middle-earth and the Imperial Roman era (blame Simon Scarrow for his great Legion series).
