Welcome to Operation Sting

The tournament organizers from Bilbo’s Birthday Bash are proud to present our Inauguaral Bolt Action tournament: Operation Sting! We look forward to hosting this brand new tournament will all the enthusiasm we brought to the BBB events.

Operation Sting will be a two-day Grand Tournament style event hosted at the Hilton-Northbrook. The event takes place the weekend of October 18-19. Each player will play a total of 5 games over the course of the weekend (3 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday). The players will bring a single army (1000 requisition points) consisting of a single reinforced platoon.

Event scoring will be a combination of Battle Points, Sportsmanship, Theme, and Paint scores for Overall placement. Awards will be presented for the following categories: Best Overall, Best General, Best Appearance, and Best Sportsman.

Registration for Operation Sting is $45. There are also options to purchase an optional boxed lunch on Saturday (catered by a local chef who is also of the tournament attendees!) as well as custom made event dice featuring hte Operation Sting Logo (in sets of 6 or 12 dice).

A Special Note on Army Theme: In honor of the 70th anniversary of battles of 1944, any army lists taken from a theatre selector for a specific event from 1944 will receive bonus points towards their army theme!

Check out the event website for all the details:

====================

This event has replaced the local annual Bilbos Birthday Bash because most of the old players are getting tired of the Lotr unfortunately....its basically always the same guys.

Replacing that, my buddy Brent has set up this tournament. It sounds like a ton of fun, and if youre new, like me, you have more than enough time to learn the rules and build an army!

Sorry man....I know.....the guy who does this tournament does this stuff WELL. He made an amazing Goblin Town board we played on at Adepticon here in April. He does a lot of nice terrain. I know he had a bunch for Bolt Action as well....its going to be a great time. He didnt post it long ago and we already have I think 5 sign ups 3 months away lol. I know at least 3-5 more people will sign up soon enough too.

Sorry man. Youre late. Actually, we're late. I wanted Bilbos Birthday Bash and even got like 4-5 people who said they signed up, but the majority of the group of people who know each other chose Bolt Action. Years of Lord of the Rings has gotten to them. The drain of the one ring on them has become too much. Lol.

Sorry youre not interested though. Its a beautiful and awesome game from what Ive seen. Fun rules too.
