So I am looking to get a little more involved in the hobby but am finding it near impossible to find any events in my area. Does anyone have suggestions on where to look? I know there are events somewhere just having trouble locating them.

Thank you in advance.

There is the BBB "Bilbo's Birthday Bash" in the fall, November I think.
It's put on by the Adeptus site. http://www.adeptuswindycity.com/index.php

Otherwise Lordofthebrownring is always trying to get something going.

Myself, I work full time and have a couple kiddos at home, so time is tight.
But if your down to run a match, I live about a mile from Games Plus in Mt. Prospect, IL.
They have gaming tables and terrain pieces on hand.
They are open a bit late, and gaming ends an hour after close.
Great shop!

I live just north of Indianapolis but would be willing to come up that way every once in a while to get some games in. Especially if I might be able to get a few in.

Where is Lordofthebrownring located?

Thanks again for the help. Is registration for BBB up yet because I would love to play in a tournament. Is that the only tourney you know of in your area or does your gaming club host some too?

LOBR lives near Berwyn, i think.
There is no "game club" i am aware of.
Registration has yet to be announced.
BrentS is the contact, i think.
There is just not a lot going on.
I just post and watch for posts like yours.
We could try to set up for a saturday at Games Plus.
But with the fam its hard to dial it all in.
Throw something out there, I will sell it to my wife.

Hello Rambo, I too live in Indiana; Michigan City that is. I am planning on attending BBB 2014 this fall ( have not been able to register yet). I started discussions w/ Lordofthe BrownRing about meeting for a game ( maybe at Chicagoland Games).
I would also be willing to head south towards you for a game day. SO PM or respond and lets get something set up.

Just so you guys know Bilbos Birthday Bash is more than likely not going to happen. The idea behind that is not enough support from players even though I have gotten like a good 4 new people to show up and maybe more.....

As for gaming places. The best place to go so far is the Games Workshop in Orland Park Lakeview plaza. Its the most realistic place to meet in the middle for the players I generally have come into contact with.

Otherwise if anyone is in Chicagoland, you can contact me on here.

Hey guys, just wanted to post after seeing this thread. Unfortunately, we aren't going to run Bilbo's Birthday Bash this year. Attendance was way down over the last couple years and we barely had enough to field a tournament last year.

We are trying out hand at a Bolt Action Tournament this fall.

Is there not a way to try to do a Bilbo's Birthday Bash this year or maybe even try to organize another event in our area? I feel like with the forming of the GBHL Podcast on YouTube this is a perfect year to try a Hobbit SBG Event.

I am willing to help out to make something happen. I want to do what I can to keep this hobby alive. I'm willing to travel and know of a good space in southern Wisconsin to have an event if needed.

I would love to get some games together with those of you in this area. My schedule gets crazy sometimes also have enough time to get some games in.

I would also be willing to arrange something at my local game store if I can get a good 6-10 to commit to it I could get the owner on board.

I'm full of ideas and can support in many ways. I think we can kickstart this game back up in this area if we put a little effort into it and like I said I'm willing to do that but am just unsure where to start.
