Built a couple of towers the last couple of weeks.

First, out of bass wood and toothpicks, a simple watch tower.

Second, a tower out of plaster of paris. Wanted to try the arches and roof pieces from hirst arts mold 42. Went with a blue roof to mimic the colors I gave Thorongil and his troop.

I had left the top of the tower loose to be able to paint inside of it. Looking at it, I thought of other tops I could put on it.

A top that could hold more figures

A beacon tower (don't ask how they could light it - I don't know.)

And with some cutting away of the old fort, it fits on the hill.

Those are great! The beacon tower must have some sort of internal channel to light it ;)

Nice work. The Hirst Arts molds make some good looking Minas Tirith buildings.

What did you use for the tree banner hanging on the front? If that's hand painted, I doff my hat to you....

Keep your hat on DaveT, I found a gondor flag online in the shape I wanted and used a graphics program to scale it and change that black to blue.

I agree on the Hirst arts molds work well for Gondor buildings, I keep looking at several with a project in mind.

Nice, both towers look very good. And the modularity is also very nice! I think about buying some hirst arts molds, but my problem is that I want to much for my wallet... I like a lot of the molds, but can't afford so much...

Both towers look fantastic but I think the Gondor one is the most striking. It might be because of the color scheme but I think the little details like the flag and door help it stand out. I really like it on top of a hill too. It just looks like a cool and atmospheric piece of terrain that way. Inspirational work as always!

Dwarfs4thewin! - Hirst arts molds are great, the problem is that you usually need more than one to make nice looking pieces. This hobby isn't cheap :-(

I had to redo the flag, I forgot to add a bar of blue on the top of the flag so when I put it on the bar, the whole stars and tree are shown.

The wooden tower is just something I put together, hadn't played with wood lately.

The stone tower was more fun, giving me more ideas.
