Post subject: | Dragon Diorama |
Hi guys Like you can see I'm going to build a diorama with GW's dragon (: But it'll be a present for my girlfriends birthday, she wants a dragon for decoration in her room.. oh well (: So I found this piece of wood of 31 x 36 cm laying around at my grandparents' house. I'm planning building it on that, I actually wanted for my own minis but.. xD She wants a purple dragon, I already painted one (see my gallery) in red and it was pretty fun so I'm looking forward for this one Now the problem is, what kind of terrain should I make? It'll be a diorama with only the dragon, any ideas? or should I take a smaller base? Please help, I really want to surprise her xD Thanks, Jorn. |

you could probably have the dragon standing on a mountain of gold, I think that would be a good piece of basing scenery for the dragon. |

When I was collecting armies for Khazad-Dum and Moria I had an idea for a dragon diorama as well. I planned on depicting something similar to one of the early pictures in the Khazad-Dum sourcebook, the sack of the dragon hoard. I wanted the dragon to be deep in his lair, fighting off an attack by determined Dwarve's. I was going to make it an underground scene, similar to my Moria board. I also intended on having some ruined Dwarf columns (Thormarillion make sgreat ones) and perhaps some Dwarven skeletons as well as some treasure the dragon had gathered. I even played with the idea of sparying some areas of the walls with watered down PVA glue, and smearing ash on to them to achieve the look and feel as if the dragon's fire had schorched his own lair. I doubt I'll build this now, so I thought I'd share it with you so you can take what you will from it. donuthare wrote: the smiley is : ) not ( :

@ Longbottom Leaf: thanks for the idea, it sounds great but I maybe have something in mind I was planning on making 2 islands, one in each corner. The Dragon will be standing on one of the islands and on the other island I'm going to make a text, (attached to a rock or something) and write 'happy birthday my love' on it (: Longbottom Leaf wrote: donuthare wrote: the smiley is : ) not ( : I think he's free to type the smiley however he pleases. yes.. I like this one '(:' more actually.. xD |
