Hello, I'm going to make Minas Morgul model (like Weta bigature in the film), but i have found too little materials I can't find any information about second floor, entrance to the second floor, any ladders etc. The top view of weta's miniature would be the best. Any ideas? |

I hope your endeavers succeed. The Witch-king's hold is my favourite of the Mordor bastions of Sauron. |

I have pics of the one I made in my gallery on this site. gallery/image_page.php?album_id=79&image_id=357 There's only 3 pics of it in there, but I have a ton more. The model I built is 15 square feet (3 feet x 5 feet), and it's not nearly big enough to do all the detail I wanted. I made a lot of decissions while making mine on what to keep / take out / change to get what I wanted. For example there is far more black on mine than the actual filming model. I had it painted more like the WETA version but I decided to change it to what I wanted. My model has no interior stairs or door ways. The few pics I have of the WETA model don't show any. Not that there aren't any, just the pics I could find don't show it. It could be that since MM was only used as background material, and not a major presence like Minas Tirith, it was not given the same amount of interior detail. Look at this website photo of Minas Tirith. The city is the entire model. http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=21009 Here is a pic of the Minas Morgul model with a man for size comparison. The city / fortress is tiny compaired to Minas Tirith. Maybe the detail just isn't there. I couldn't find any either. http://www.councilofelrond.com/modules. ... by=ratingD This is the biggest pic I could find online. Frow WETA's website. http://www.wetanz.com/assets/Uploads/Mi ... Mini01.jpg Have you looked on the extended DVD of ROTK? There is a model section with some ok MM stuff in there. It helped me some. If you're interested I can tell you how I made mine. Dave |

Lots of things I learned. lots of things I'd do differently a second time... if there were a second time. Not to derail this thread too much, but I stopped making big dispalys like this because I simply ran out of space. The 4 things in my gallery take up a combined 96 square feet, and I've got a bunch of smaller stuff lieing around. Quote: 96 square feet That is why I use table covers instead of static displays. You have a nice collection of MBA buildings. I like your Party tree as well. I am truly looking forward to your future post. |

Though I'm not sure some one would pay what I'd ask for. I have made several smaller things for table top use. They came out pretty good. Just not as "grand" as the other projects. I'm not sure if I have pics of them or not, I'll look. Oldman Willow wrote: You have a nice collection of MBA buildings. I like your Party tree as well. I am truly looking forward to your future post. YES!! I love these! When thinking about a project I go over costs / time etc. These buildings are just too good for their price. You see kits un-assembled and un-painted for twice the cost. That's not even all the ones I have, but it is most. They are based right up near you in Lawerenceville. I think the owners have a store up there some where. I used to see the MBA guys a few times a year at Recon and Hurricon here in Fl, but haven't seen them recently. The party tree I can't take credit for. Got it off Ebay for like $20. Some guy up near Chicago. It was too good to pass up. |
